It felt weird at first, but after a day I got used to it and actually like it. Overall it's extremely easy to type on - it's the "fastest" keyboard I've ever had.

Calculator button is F7.

F1 Home Page
F2 Mail
F3 Search
F4 IM
F5 F6 Can't remember
F7 Calc
F8 Drive Eject
F9-F12 media volume/controls

You can also remap all these keys to any other program you want.

Make sure you install set point. I already had it installed because of my Logitech mouse so everything worked out of the box.

Keyboard is beautiful and I'm loving it. I'm used to the laptop type keyboards and I prefer them. Backlighting is very clean too.

Surely that's limited to a very few select number of users, though. That's a pretty serious flaw and I find it hard to believe Logitech would intentionally make it that way.

It's very likely that those people just didn't have USB Legacy Support turned on in the BIOS...

For your USB keyboard or mouse to work with MS-DOS-based utilities and non-Windows modes, your computer must have USB Legacy Support enabled in the BIOS. USB Legacy Support allows the BIOS to interact with a USB keyboard, and in limited cases, a USB mouse.

Well I bit...I hope it's as good as everyone says! Love my Logi UltraX and this looks like a nicer version of that.

nope, it was because this keyboard is USB2.0 model and some BIOSes have issues with that.

I have apple's keyboard, it is another known keyboard with this problem, setting or un-setting USB legacy mode does nothing.

The Logitech Illuminated Keyboard does NOT come with a USB to PS2 adapter. I just talked to Logitech Technical Support and was informed that Logitech's position is "officially" the Illuminated Keyboard DOES NOT work with a USB to PS2 adapter. In other words, it may work but it is not officially guaranteed to do so. YMMV

No USB ports on your computer? How old is it?

I have this keyboard but recently switched to another. For some reason the w and a keys would get stuck when I would play cod4 even though they were set correctly. I'd constantly be moving forward and to the left. This didn't happen with any other games and didn't happen once I switched keyboards.

Ugh, not what I wanted to hear. I play COD4 pretty regularly. I'll check this out tonight since it just arrived.

Btw, looking forward to Modern Warfare 2!

It was fine for a few months but only started acting up recently. I don't know what changed.

Same thing just happened with a Dell usb keyboard I've been using. This leads me to believe its not the keyboard but possibly the usb port as I was using the same one. I switched usb ports and tried the Dell keyboard again without any issues. I haven't re-tested the Logitech keyboard again though.

well, those detonator links are messing up for me. All i get is a blank white page when I click the links.

I have to manually copy and paste instead lately.

Is the Detonator program responsible for what seemed like a security breach to me when in another thread, someone posted a deal over on Cabela's and when I started adding things to my cart upon checkout it had my information as some guy named Jeffrey Rowe from Beaver Creek Ohio. Cabela's couldn't explain it other than the website I clicked on wasn't really Cabela's, or my internet provider would be able to determine if someone was hacking into my network/computer.

There is a thread in the Technical Forum Issues Forum that addresses the referral link program.

detonator.dynamitedata.com

Let's stick to the OP's topic in this thread from here on.

Original deal has been dead for awhile. Amazon has it now for $5 higher after rebate (updated in first post). Current Amazon price is actually cheaper than previous Newegg price if you live in California...

Keyboard has been great.

Amazon has it for the same price. (Amazon doesn't advertise the rebate, the but the rebate form specifically says it is valid for purchases made at Amazon)
