$30 Rebate.

I've been looking for cheap illuminated keyboards and recently purchased the Saitek gaming keyboard for $30. Backlighting works great but I wasn't used to the bulk (G11 and G15 same problem for me). I prefer the slim "chiclet" type keys used on notebooks. This Logitech was my first choice for lighted keyboards but it was usually $60-70.

8/1 Edit:

$45 AR, $5 higher than before.

Keyboard has been awesome.

I just bought one of these at Fry's for $58 and I really love it. Seems like a good deal on a good keyboard.

That's a pretty good deal, wish I got in on this. I ended up paying the full $80. I love IBM Thinkpad-style keyboards and this one is perfect. The backlighting is superb. There are 3 brightness states and each key is lit individually, so it's not some crappy "overall" cathode or led row. FWIW I love mine.

Awesome keyboard.

Bought one for $70 @ staples and happy with it at that price. It feels like a very good laptop keyboard.

IFO for work.

If only this keyboard had blue lights.

EDIT: I might catch flak for this but: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8a5p8UuuLE

For most people, this isn't an issue, but check out the video. I type pretty fast and have never had a letter drp out, bt othr people may experience it.

I've got this keyboard and paid too much it seems. I have an issue with it when I hit Ctrl + C on the left. It sometimes doesn't copy.

I've heard about the key blocking issue also. I wonder if it's a logitech specific issue or something to do with the fact that it's a slim "notebook" type of keyboard (this problem is only reported on the Logitech illuminated and dinovo, both of which are slim keys). I use this similar Kensington keyboard http://us.kensington.com/html/4826.html and if I type really fast I realize my fingers are "slurring" over the some of the keys because the key travel is a bit different than standard keyboards. I've since adjusted and don't drop out letters anymore.

Does your CTRL and C keys work ok by themselves? Don't know if it helps but check under the key. I noticed I was having some problems on my Kensington...I pulled the key off and noticed some cookie crumbs under it preventing my key presses from registering. Couple blasts of compressed air fixed it up.

Good Deal. Posted in another forum, but for those that use a KVM with the scroll lock hotkey you may want to pass. It appears this keyboard does not play nice with this kvm feature (ie it looks like it's missing a scroll lock key).

It did it right out of the box, so I think that rules out something under it, unless it came from the factory that way. I'll have to check. I did not install the software at first and then did install it later in an attempt to fix the problem. It's an inconsistent problem.

This is only a 2 key press, so I can't believe it would be a problem especially because it's a very common key combination. I'm far from a fast typer so that's not it by any means.

It may just be my keyboard and not an inherent problem.

You've posted a great deal. I wish I had not purchased mine a month or so ago so I couldn't have gotten in on this deal. 🙂

LOL

If this had blue lights, I would get it, this is the lowest price I've seen by far. I can't wait for someone to make a nice looking keyboard that has good gaming performance (ie, not the lycosa), slim keys and a blue backlight. C'mon logitech or saitek.

I have this keyboard but recently switched to another. For some reason the w and a keys would get stuck when I would play cod4 even though they were set correctly. I'd constantly be moving forward and to the left. This didn't happen with any other games and didn't happen once I switched keyboards.

Ugh, not what I wanted to hear. I play COD4 pretty regularly. I'll check this out tonight since it just arrived.

Btw, looking forward to Modern Warfare 2!

It was fine for a few months but only started acting up recently. I don't know what changed.

Sounds like an isolated incident, as almost all of the reviews of this thing are 4 and 5 stars. Call Logitech, they will make it right.

Oh yeah, I forgot how awesome Logitech's warranty guys are. One of the speakers on my Z5100 died. I asked them for a replacement speaker. They sent me a brand new set (6 speakers total).

Logitech is awesome.

Got my keyboard earlier today. It takes some getting used to, but it types quite well and it looks great. Be sure to update to the latest setpoint if using w7 because I had some problems at first with an older version.

ss284, any chance there is a quick calculator button on one of those F keys above or anywhere on kb?

That's the one gripe I have about this keyboard - no calc button. Not a deal breaker though (and it does have audio controls). Also note that the "space" bar is rounded unlike the other keys. It felt weird at first, but after a day I got used to it and actually like it. Overall it's extremely easy to type on - it's the "fastest" keyboard I've ever had.
