Thinking of getting one for my bedroom. Will control tv dvd player and tivo. Either 670 or 880. I've read reviews on both and feel that either would be OK. I just don't want to spen over 100.00. So I can get a refurbished 880 or new 670.
How is logitech's return/exhange department with remotes? I have heard they are good with mice, etc. Just would hate to get the 880 and it be problematic.


I know it's a personal opinion but if you were in this situation what would you do?

 
I bought the 688 used off of eBay for around $65. It's worked great for the past year and a half. I can't speak about Logitech's return/exchange policy as I have not had any problems.
 
I had a problem with my 880 and their customer service was great.

I'm not sure what the warranty is on a refurb, but if its ok then I'd definitely opt for the 880 over the 670.
 
I picked up a used one (XBOX 360 edition) for about $15 many months ago. I've had no problems, and based upon all the other Logitech hardware I've had, they have a great and well-deserved reputation for building quality hardware. I can't speak to their return/exchange policy as, like kalrith, I've not had a need for it. The only thing to be aware of, their Vista support is not quite perfect. Some people have no trouble getting their Harmony to work with Vista, but after many days of struggling, I just gave up and set it up on the wife's XP machine.
 
amazon has a deal right now (the 880 new is $140, I am considering getting it to replace my older nevo (greyscale) which is way out of warranty and having some problems (plus something of a pain to program for new devices). I think the sale runs through next weekend.
 
on amazon it says that the refurbished one carries a 1 year warranty just like the new one....im looking into this remote as well now at this great price


anyone have any experience with this working with windows vista?
 
Thanks everyone. I guess the forums were down because I couldn't access this thread until now.

I went ahead and ordered a 670 for ~70.00 new. It's only going to be used in a bedroom so it will be for a tv, tivo, and dvd player.

I'll see how I like it and maybe pick up an 880 in a few months for the living room.
 
I'm on my third 880, but this one works just fine.

Contacting Logitech customer support on the first two went very smoothly.
 
I have the 720 and I love it. My dad thought it was really cool so he bought one too. They sell them at Costco.
