Logitech Harmony Adapter for PS3

Yes, you have full access to all of the menus in the PS3, including powering the unit off.
 
Eh...I just turn the unit off the same way I would playing a game. PS button, scroll to the left, scroll up, verify...PS3 goes sleepy-time... (Nyko-Harmony One user)...
 
Dumb question that I have that I might as well put in this thread.

A couple of times I've ended up turning off my projector before the PS3. I've done my best to try to turn off the PS3 without being able to see the display (going all the way to the left with the controller, then up to shut off and selecting off), but it doesn't work unless I have the projector on.

Did I just manage to screw up the button combination a couple times, or is there a "feature" on the PS3 that doesn't allow it to shut off unless the display device is turned on.
 
the PS3 recognizes when the display is shut off, and the normal steps to turn off the ps3 don't work...

There's been a few times that happened where I just decided to let it auto-power off after an hour instead of switching things back to do it 😛

Is that an option you have to enable, or does it do that by default?

I would gladly have it do that than power cycle the projector again and take ~2 hours off the lamp life.
 
There is an option to set the auto-power off, I don't think it is set by default. One drawback to the auto power off is that if it does not detect any putton presses within the hour, it will warn you that it will shut off, however since most movies are longer than an hour, you've got to press a button or it will turn off during the movie. Rookie programmers.

I guess on the bright side most of the time my movie watching gets interrupted (time to pause) unless I'm watching alone, so this probably is still something I should enable.
