Thanks a lot. Another item I didn't know I HAD to have until I checked this forum. Sounds like a steal, my 17 year old gave it a thumbs up. Said he was torn between the MS Sidewinder and this. He got the Sidewinder, since I found a hot deal on one a year or so ago. At least now I can reclaim my Intellimouse from my newest system that the kids have taken over as their primary gaming machine.

the updated version is the g9x. it supposedly fixes the low sensitivity issues by using a better sensor, but they delayed releasing it because they had so many g9 leftover. i'm guessing they're trying to get rid of stock now.

If I go to Amazon and order through BeachCamera, is the rebate still valid? I don't see the rebate info anywhere on that page. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000UHE8Y2/

Also, I see that if I order directly through Amazon (not Beach Camera) that it says 3-5 weeks to ship. If that's true then it's going to be difficult to impossible to get the UPC to send in for the rebate by the postmarked date of 7-23. Just something to think about.

That's because Amazon is out of stock. Sometimes they get a few in but most of the time it takes weeks. Best to order from someone who can ship quicker, as you implied.
 
I ordered one on Wednesday from buy dig, used there free shipping. it was sitting at my door Saturday morning.

I used paypal and didn't recieve a conformation from buydig but it came quick

You'll need a copy of the receipt for rebate purposes, won't you? Or did they include one in the package they shipped to you?
 
Update from my end.

Just called BuyDig and gave them my order number (I had saved a copy of the webpage with it, b/c I never got confirmation e-mail). They pulled it right up and even told me it was shipping in an hour or two. Plus the Customer Service rep instantly e-mailed me a copy of my receipt.

Quality service.

Has anyone ordered through BeachCamera? I did so through Amazon and was wondering who delivered the package? Their site says they ship through FedEx.

I'm asking because I need to make arrangements if anyone other than USPS ships the mouse. Our building door stays locked and only the post office has a key.

Dang, bought this for ~$55 after rebate about a month ago from Fry's I thought that was a good deal considering normal price was $85-90.
 
Got mine today, I love it, much more comfortable (for me) than my G5. I don't "palm" my mice, I hold them with my fingers, hope this helps people who are unsure about comfort.

Just got mine, very nice and comfprtable.
Just one minus: not compatible with KVM...
Thinking to buy another one like from BUYDIG $20 AR, AMAZON ?
NEWEGG got it for $40 AR...
 
I got mine also. It is a little bit less comfortable than diamondback, but g9 is a lot more responsive and more smooth gliding. The precision grip is good even if you hold the mouse with your fingers like it do. I just gotta figure out the best config for tf2/css.
 
Mine should be coming in a day or so.

What mouse-pads are people using for this? "Gaming" mousepads at Newegg run anywhere from $10-$40. I'm just using the surface of my desk for my laser MX518, but would be curious what "gaming" mousepads people would recommend (hopefully a $10 one).

Mousepads are your choice. Some serious gamers use their desk or a sheet of printer paper, some like the QcK cloth pads, and others like the hard pads such as the fUnc pads. I prefer the QcK pad but I don't competitively play online anymore. It's fairly cheap (~$10), thin, nicely sized, and is attractive in appearance. Compared to optical mice, laser mice are not picky about what surface they are used on.

Edit: I see that Amazon now has the G9 for $52.44. I really wish their post order price guarantee was still supported as I paid $59 only eleven days ago.
