Are u guys using 1984 keyboards. Such a minor issue, yet all this crying. Both of the G series are great mouses.
oh come on, its about efficient design. why take away a perfectly good functioning feature? that extra button was easily reachable and never confusing and so was great for desktop features of your choice or games. and well in games u know u need all the quickly reachable buttons u can get. same with the buttons near the mousewheel, i liked them flanking the wheel top and bottom. i see why they put them further back and the top so one would not accidentally change mouse resolutions on the g series but why not keep another pair of buttons around the wheel too. it must be possible since the mx series actually already had 3 up top, just need one more. insead the g series redueced it to a feeble two. i liked setting em to end/home and such in windows. easy to reach and click

only retarded button on my mx700 is the one at the very top for application switching or whatnot, it requires a hand contortion to reach and so is useless.
the mx1000 wasn't any better, it had that cheap chunk of plastic around the wheel as buttons. totally didn't match the tight tolerance/clean design of logitech mice...let alone a high model. felt ick too. they bungled the thumb area on the mx1000 by overcomplicating it too heh.
and my kb is just fine, an ergo multimedia microsoft kb with nice big distinctly shaped multimedia keys. those are useful. i wouldn't use it for web navigation though, hands do not naturally hover over that area.
