Logitech G7 Gaming Mouse $39 after rebates, free shipping

i think its warm... i got my hot deal couple months back for 16 dollars from amazon =)

but that's a good price 40 bucks. awesome mouse.

Not really a good gaming mouse. I've had lock ups, there's only one side button and the scroll wheel is way too hard to press. It's really nice for anything else though.

Great gaming mouse imho. I got the G7 and G5 back when amazon had that super hot deal. I liked it over the G5 b/c of it being wireless. And my MX518 is now a back-up.

It would have been nice if the G7 had a second thumb button but I just map the scroll wheel left and right tilt buttons to game keys which I find to actually be better when gaming.

Assuming the G5 and G7 have the same wheel setup: I have the G5 and the wheel is fine. Never accidentally rock it, never accidentaly push it in or scroll when I mean to push it in. Methinks something is wrong w/ your finger 😵

Anyone know if this is the black one or the green/gray one? I really want to get one of these, but that green/gray is awful.

The green/gray one isn't that bad. I had one that crapped out and I got shipped a black one for replacement. I admit, the green/gray one is a little worse, but both are head and shoulders above my old MX518. If this deal was for $16, I'd say get it regardless. Even at $40 it's hard to pass up...

I'm left handed so i foolishly bought one. Yeah it's craptastic. Save your money and go over to www.razerzone.com and get one of their copperheads. Best mouse i've ever used.

As a lefty who owns this mouse, I fully endorse it. You just have to be like 99% of lefties and mouse with your right hand 😉

I just got an MX518 myself (don't remember the cost), but I prefer it due to the non-tiliting scroll wheel (I have an MX610 on another machine and I hate that tilting wheel) and the two thumb buttons are better than one thumb button.

I bought the MX500 when it first came out but I foolishly bought a G7 because of the stats but I bought a MX518 last week to replace it. It's the not the scrolling of the mwheel, it's the pressing of it for mouse3 that's terrible. I guess it also depends on what games you're playing. The tilt wheel isn't recognized in half life so I can't use it for that :|

schneiderguy: Where did find the MX518 for $30?

I just got one 2 weeks ago from Amazon and it was indeed the green/grey one. It's not that bad at all. The pictures online make it look much worse. My biggest complaint is lame battery life vs the old cordless optical M$ mouse I had before. Even my MX1000 gets better battery life than the G7!

Yup, its beyond me why they would create this "awesome gaming mouse" and then leave out a VERY important part. Seriously WTF were they thinking? Would they please just make a g6 with that extra thumb button... For now, the mx518 is my king.

From the pictures, it looks like they changed the sides of the mouse. They removed the shiny coating from where you hold it on the "new" G7 which is also a plus.

Hmm, you know you can use/map the Scroll Wheel Right and Left tilt buttons in place of the second thumb buttons. Then you actually gain an extra button.

Yeah, but not games recognizes those buttons and sometimes it just isn't as convenient as moving your thumb half an inch up and hitting it.

Well said, i have been using the two thumb buttons since i started gaming, taking it away takes away a very important key.
