my only complaint is that the sensitivity indicator only shows 1 bar at a time, which moves up and down. From the various preview pictures I thought that all three bars would be lit for max dpi, 2 for medium, and 1 for low. However with mine it only uses the first bar for high, the second bar for medium, or the third bar for low. Maybe it's just a driver issue?
ok, when u just plug and play the mouse then you get 3 on the fly sensitivities, i think they are 800, 1200 and 2000, dont quote me if im wrong tho, i cant remember now..lol
the little LED metre only lights one to tell you which you are on....(400 will be nearest you, 1200 will be middle, 2000 will be furthest LED from you)
now, when you install the software on the disc that came with the G5 (dont use other logitech software, use the supplied disc) u can create up to 5 on the fly settings, they can all be linked x/y, all unlinked x/y or a mix or linked and unlinked x/y, ie:
(x/y)
400/400, 800,800, 1050/1050, 1450/1450, 2000/2000 or
400/500, 800/900, 1200/1350, 1500/1650, 1900/2000 or
400/400, 800/900, 1250/1450, 1600/1600, 1800/1800
(actual figures i've used are just random, u can set in increments of 50, however one rule is that the next setting up must be higher than the highest of the previous)
when you use 5 on the fly settings, your little led metre bars go as follows
slowest setting (ie 400/400) bar nearest you lights
next slowest, bar nearest you and middle bar lights
third slowest, middle bar lights,
4th slowest, middle bar and bar furthest from you lights,
5 slowest (ie 2000/2000), bar furthest from you lights.
If even with software loaded up it isnt working, i suggest you first try a reinstall, then test by setting the sensitivities as evenly spaces as possible, then work out if its making a difference or not....if it isnt send the the mouse back..
