Lol, I ordered mine on Thursday. I wasn't expecting this until either Friday or Monday.

While I agree with some of whats been said, that its click is noisier and the wheel is harder to turn, overall I like it alot. Its comparable to my 518, and given the choice I cannot decide which is better.

Its movement is not erratic, and picking it up and setting it down results in no lag. Overall its a winner in my book.

Well, I want to give the G5 some time before passing judgement. The 1st "con" IMHO is the tilt scroll wheel. In COD2 the middle click throws a frag grenade. Unfortunately, it is much easier to click sideways (scroll) than click in the center. The only way I found to be consistent with grenades was to set all three wheel clicks (left, right, center) to throw a grenade.

The settings for each game seem to have to be done in the logitech software. This was not the case with the MX518. There is probably a way around this, but I just have not found it yet. I will go and try to find some reviews of the G5 to save myself figuring out all the bugs on my own.

I will say the ultra fine control is awesome for sniping, but the fastest response time is so fast it literally makes me sick to watch. (A643700, 2GB PC3200 2-3-2-5, BFG NV6800GTOC)

I use a program called LogiGamer to do all of my key assignments, has autoapply too for differnt apps; just google it.

and uggghhh, what on earth would convince them not to have a forward button. I suppose I could always wait till my mx700 dies and get a mouse in the next round.

I'm getting used to the G5, haven't tried the G7 yet.

I'm not a big fan of it yet and almost like my MX510 better.

I just received my g7 mouse. Wasn't a fan of wireless mice until this one. When people say zero lag, they mean zero lag!

Yep. I just got mine and I LOVE this thing. I didn't even installed the drivers. I just plugged it in, Windows detected it and I'm good to go. Everything works GREAT! This feels better than my old Logitech wired mouse! I got my fUnc 103 mouse pad too and this combo is AWESOME!

I would've ordered from TD and took my chances with the rebate if I had known.. I think there was a decent chance of getting the Amazon rebate from them.
I'm going to keep an eye on Amazon.. if I see them come back into stock under Amazon, theres going to be some trouble.

I don't think it's too late. It shows now shipping from TD. Give it another shot.

Just a few thoughts about this G7 mouse:
The wireless works great - no complaints. However, battery life is very short and you have to switch the rechargeable battery often - every 2 days???

My biggest compaint is the plastic where your thumb presses against. It get s very slick unless you wipe the oils off frequently. If you don't, it will cause you to be less accurate when trying to move or aim! My old mx510 was WAY better since it had a rubbery surface under thumb (I'm seriously thinking about glueing some tacky material to the G7 or selling it!). Logitech. you need to do more product testing! Also, don't change something just for the sake of change! Rubber contact points is soo much better than plastic!
The other big compaint is: the wheel is terrible cuz it is noisy and not smooth like my mx510!!! How could that design flaw happen these days? The G7's wheel is clunky and anoying to use. I don't use the tilt function either cuz it's too tricky to use. I miss the 2 thumb buttons for web browsing (back and forward buttons) and gaming.

Bottom line is, I can't recommend the G7 due to the disappoining design flaws and mediocre wheel action! I'd rather use my old mx510 to be honest...but I juse spent $60 just to get the wireless :( The slick plastic feels VERY uncomfortable and you can't afford the slightest inaccuracy in movement playing FPS games! So if you are a big gamer, I'd try it out first...Hope this helps - I wish I read a review like this BEFORE I bought it...

Hi All,
has anyone received a definte answer concerning the rebate.
I bought the mouse through amazon, though sold and shipped by TD.
The rebate form stipulates that the mouse is to be bought at Amazon. Are there any legal pros reading this thread who may be able to let us know where we would stand on collecting the rebate from Logitech
Thanks
Ed

The G7 is back in stock at Amazon.. shipped by Amazon. I sent them an email asking if they would re-instate my order that they had cancelled.. they said no, but out of my little question and a little complaint, I got a $10 promotional certificate I can use for my next Amazon purchase.

I just got an email from Logitech stating that since my purchase was made through Tiger direct, it didnt qualify. WTF. I bought it at Amazon.com, only because I was going to get the rebate. This is pure bs.
From Logitech:
Promotion G7 Cordless Mouse $50 @ Amazon
Rebate Number xxxxxx
Promotion Type Rebate
Submission ID xxxxxxx
Status We are currently unable to approve your rebate for the reason listed below. The receipt you submitted is from a non-qualifying store.

You will receive a letter or postcard describing this problem. The letter or postcard may have instructions on how to correct this error.

Now I have to jump through more hoops and wait another 45 days. Not worth it.

i think the OP even said you have to have it shipped from amazon in order to get this deal.

i guess the hype was great which caused people to order without even checking if its from TD or Amazon. its happened to me a few times. The best thing to do is either return the mouse or just stick with it....

has anyone else gotten an email yet about the rebate, i am wondering if maybe you need to send the amazon.com receipt and not the tigerdirect reciept. this is gonna piss me off if they decline my rebate, i would never have spent this much on mice.

the ppl who bought from TD should have known that there was a good chance the rebate would be rejected. you took your chances and lost...shouldn't be complaining.

the rebate says bought AT amazon.com, not from amazon.com, i bought my mouse at amazon.com and will argue that, even if i have to send the mice back and get a refund. they are nice mice, but no mouse is worth that kinda money IMO.

also, on my credit card statement it says the payment was to amazon.com, there is no way they are getting out of that one.
