Wow. I wasn't expecting all of this. It was a decent feel to the keyboard, and it was pretty much the only one I could find with standard layout for function keys, as well as non-cordless (no need for it on the server).

What I wasn't expecting is the LCD showing CPU & RAM. And the CPU monitor actually shows all four processors. That's awesome.

I'm sold on the keyboard. Guess I'm rather glad that mine got destroyed.

Using 3rd party software for the keyboard LCD screen ?

I looked at one of these at Fry's and thought that the (appearently) painted keys would wear through easily. Any issues with paint this ?

the LCD was built with homebrew apps in mind. the devlopers software for that is floating around somewhere.

there are a bunch of people complaining about the paint coming off their keyboards. Logitech has not commented on it.

The keys have no paint on them, they have a clear plastic inlay for the letter, which allows the LCD backlight to shine through them.

I love my G15....great purchase! 🙂

Same here. Love the feel and quietness of the keys. Backlight is cool too. I haven't even messed with LCD mods yet. Any good place to check???

Wife is going to get one for her machine as well. Just being blue was enough, but then I showed her that she could do all the emotes in Guild Wars with the touch of a single button... She was sold. 🙂 I just keep hitting G16 instal of control. Kinda annoying. But I'm sure I'll get used to it.

I just got mine last night. It was also surprised at how useful the LCD is with LCDStudio Pro. I set up a custom config, it alternates between 2 screens every 10 seconds. The first screen shows FPS *from fraps*, CPU%, Memory%, CPU temp, NB temp, and I think the time. The second one shows VGA core speed, VGA memory speed, VGA temp current, average, and max * all from ATI tool*, screen resolution and refresh.

Very happy with my purchase, although I think for the next week or 2 I will be spending more time tweaking my displays than playing anygames heh...

I think I need to add a bandwidth monitor tonight somewhere. hmm.

QFT. I purchased my G15 back when they first arrived on Best Buy online shelves, and the only thing I don't like about it so far is with the hand rest that hooks onto the front to rest the back of your palms. The material is a somewhat soft plastic, and the oils from my skin have somewhat discolored where my palms rest. It really gives it a rather unwelcome appearance from what it looked like brand new.

Other than that, it's a great keyboard. I'm looking forward to the next in the series, which will undoubtedly have a color LCD and a possible higher resolution. It's a common next step. Who's betting it'll follow the path the iPod did with it's screen? 🙂 We'll have a high-res video-playing LCD on our G52 keyboards a couple of years from now.

Oh higher rez screen would really be nice.

Here is my interface. Its a little clunky, but I just started tinkering with it last night. It alternates between those 2 screens every 10 seconds.

You'll be lucky to find one of these in the UK right now. Hopefully Logitech are addressing the paint problem and will have a new revision available shortly.
