not sure if this is a good deal, but
bought this from staples for $53 shipped (not overnight)...
asked them to pricematch mwaves.com who sells the unit
for $74....they generally lump in the overnight shipping cost if you pricematch with companies who do not have free
overnight shipping...but staples could not send the product
to me overnight so they pricematched w/o adding the
shipping...i used the 25 off 75 coupon (the rep took this
w/o me having to buy rubberbands or anything)..so the final price was $53....this is cordless {split, ergonomic} keyboard with cordless {ergonomic} mouse...if you don't like the split keyboard, you can get the non-pro version...also,
this was done over the phone, not online

I have been looking for a wireless optical mouse for months. NO such animal. Apparently the power consumption would be too much. I wonder if they are developing one that uses lithium batteries. If there are any engineers out there that need financial backing to develop one of these I would definitely be interested in investing. :)

Once you go optical you never go back. If power consumption is an issue, why don't they just put a rechargable battery in it and have a docking bay you put it in when it's not in use? Kinda like charging my cordless phone...

i ordered mine when they offered the mouse for free after rebate...59.99 + 39.99 - 25 coupon - 39.99 coupon, and supposedly the logitech rebate of $10 too. but they wouldn't pricematch me at the price of $74, they wanted to add $20 for shipping, $10 for the mouse and $10 for the keyboard. and they wouldn't match unless manufacturer's part number was EXACT, tried calling twice and got the same answer both times after they went to supervisor.

The only cordless optical device I know of is a Logitech cordless wheel Trackman optical Trackball. Why the trackball uses less? power I don't know.

Hi,
Maybe the optical setup is different for a trackball so it uses less power since the laser points to the ball, not on surfaces. There are some cordless opticals that are coming out because I saw some reviews from comdex, it comes with a recharger stand just like the someone suggested.

Thanks for the info. I may go for this deal and then add the optical trackball later. This may be a better way to go in the long run.

whups...yeah it's mwave not mwaves..
staples said this was a product they had to get from
a different warehouse...so it was not an overnight shipping
product....the sku # at staples is 520649
you may need to call them up

I tried this last night and got nowhere. The SKU # you gave doesn't show up on their database and the CSR couldn't find it by name. To bad, this was a good deal, but I've been reading that Staples has started to allow you to either PM or use a coupon, but not both.

I can't find this deal at Staples for the life of me.

You DID get a GREAT DEAL though.

The next cheapest I could find this combo at a reputable dealor was at techstore.com
for $78 but they are now out of stock. :frown:
