Logitech diNovo Edge Keyboard

I am holding out for the mini, which is suppose to be available any day now.
Only 6" wide. Not for full time use, but as a HTPC keyboard. I think perfect.

very good deal, paid $129 shipped form dell. Everyone that has used this keyboard wants it when they test drive it. Battery life is amazing, you don't ahve to charge it for a month with constant daily usage. It does have media keys you justhave to hold the orange FN key between the right alt and ctrl buttons which light up plenty of options (easily my favorite feature) and the built in mouse is a godsend. If you have a media center without a remote and want to sit on your couch and just watch tv without having to move, this is a great keyboard. I don't work for logitech I just love this keyboard

I'll hold out for that model 🙂

Well, it does have the scrolling disc touchpad that people seem to use when using it with their TVs.

So tempted to buy it, but I have 3 wireless sets already 🙁

this is a great deal.
I ordered it the last time they had this rebate. The keyboard is solid, no lag that I can feel. Also no connection issues, I was very surprised this works in the bios even. On and off switch works great, no reconnection rigaramole when you turn it back on.
I researched alot of htpc keyboards, and this is the best one by far. It sucks its not cheaper, but you can really feel the quality when you have in your hands.
The edge mini looks too small. You should have a seperate ir remote for proper htpc use anyway, the super small form factor seems like a compromise when you really do need a keyboard setup for the htpc.

The rebate also came fairly quickly.

This keyboard rocks. It DOES have a mouse touchpad that is also a scrolling pad....I don't feel like its too much of a laptop feel because it is a media center keyboard....I use this when on the couch on my lap or on my stomach when I'm laying down. I don't want heavy keys... In terms of not being a solid keyboard.....its the most solid keyboard you will have... try one before commenting. I have over 15 keyboards, this trumps them all.

If you have money and need a htpc keyboard, this is the one to get.

missed that comment about the "solid" keyboard. What sophist said, there is no other wireless keyboard that is more solid than this.

How does this compare with the keyboard in Microsoft Wireless Desktop 7000? Does it have the CapsLock LED (that I miss on MS keyboard)?

I ordered this from buy.com..but they sent me a refurb!! 🙁
The sensitivity on the touch disc is a bit low..and no matter what speed i set for horizontal scrolling..it is just slow and gets stuck (keeps strolling even though i've stopped)

Is there a way to find out without opening the Logitech box? Mine is in what appears to be a retail box, but because I'm giving it as a present, I don't want to cut through the seals. (And thanks for the warning!)

I absolutely love this keyboard... my dongle broke though so I have to use a bluetooth adapter to get it to work on my htpc... a pretty regular problem. Other than that, I'm waiting for the mini to use with my ps3 and htpc in the living room.

Mine was labeled with a "No Warranty. Sold As Is" sticker along with a scratched out "DEF" sticker. That and the logitech box was damaged in several spots. If your box doesn't have these stickers, then you probably got a new one.

Here are pictures of the package I received:

I still haven't received any response from buy.com. 🙁

Mine is the same. Response from buy.com is to return it at my own expensive! Shipping will be reimburshed at their discretion only for defective products. Can get a credit or a replacement.

Btw, Amazon has it for the same price: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obi...g/detail/-/B000J43HJ8/

Below is the second email I sent them:
Hi, I asked this question earlier, but the repsonse was not quite satisfactory.

I can get a RMA to ship the product back and either get a credit or a refund. However, there is a problem because the product I received was already opened and is a refurbished item with no warranty. From the returns policy, it seems that buy.com may not provide credit/refunds in this case. And, I would be responsible for the shipping back to you. Seems like the Buy.com horror stories I've read online are true.

Can you clarify to me what exactly can I expect to happen if I get a RMA# and send this back to buy.com

This is what should happen:
1. I pay for shipping and ship it back to buy.com
2. Buy.com issues me credit for shipping
3. Buy.com sends me a NEW item like I ordered
4. I end up as a somewhat satisfied buyer with the worst experience I've ever gotten shopping at Buy.com

If the situation turns out worse than above, then I will have to resort to whatever options are available to me (Reseller Ratings, BBB, Credit Card company).

I'm sorry for the aggressive stance, but I really don't have time to deal with this.

It may be easiest for me to do a returns through AMEX and simply order a new one from Amazon.

I would absolutely contact AMEX and dispute the charge. Let them know you purchased a new item and you were sent a broken/used keyboard instead and you want to dispute the charge.

Reseller Ratings are helpful for others, BBB is a joke, Amex customer service will the most efficient path to take.

I make as many of my purchases as possible with my AMEX. Not only do I get an additional year of free warranty coverage; they absolutely have your back when dealing with crappy store policies.

Is that a valid dispute? I understand that I can return it to AMEX, but I would still be out the shipping fees. If I can dispute it then I wouldn't lose anything, and get to keep the refurbished keyboard as well.

Call AMEX and let them know the whole situation. Emphasize that you shouldn't have to pay the return fee for something you didn't order. I'm sure they'll work with you.
