Logitech is a quality company. I can't believe they went from making mouses to now making THX Certified kick a88 sound systems.

Good to hear! I've always loved Logitech but never had to use their CS, glad they live up to the quality of their products 🙂

Hmm - I've had two or three Logitech joysticks crap out on me..looks like I should've given them a call rather than buying new ones. 🙂

whats the # you called? I have 3 logitech mice with the same problem. Clicking once is sometimes a double click.

But the OPs MX700 wasn't OOW (even though he thought it was). This mouse carries a 5 year warranty. Don't think this is the case for Logitech's game controllers.

I'm not sure I even had them for a year..one was exchanged at BB..the others I either gave away or tossed.

Arg. I called Logitech customer support because my MX700 stopped working properly a few months back, I posted about it back then.

They sent me an inferior keyboard + mouse combo. I called them back, telling them that they shipped me the wrong item, being an inferior one to what they were replacing, and that I wanted an equal or greater replacement. They refused.

So... I can't remember the model #, but I've got a wireless keyboard + mouse combo sitting in a box in a closet. Logitech CS sucked for me.

I have had them replace mice for me in the past without any hassle. A few weeks before turkey day last year my Z-680's developed the subwoofer "buzz" that a lot of people have had. I called them and let them know and for some reason I had to be with the speakers to troubleshoot so I had to call back. Called later that day after work and they sent me a new set of Z-5500's as a replacement since they no longer make the 680's, no troubleshooting at all. I did have something like 2 weeks left on my warranty but they didn't require me to send the pod back from the old set which was normal when exchanging these speakers for problems for many others. Good company!

Hahah I  you logitech!

Yeah, they did the same thing for me a few months ago when I got my MX700 replaced. Cool deal.

Holy crap, if they still had the ORIGINAL Media Elites I'd call them about mine, but I don't want one of the new ones, not worth risking it 🙁

Mice and keyboards aren't items that really fail that often.

Microsoft sent me a new Intellimouse Explorer to replace an out of warranty 3 year old one that was having intermittent tracking issues, free of charge.

Items that have a higher failure rate (or cost more to fix or replace) are not items that companies will easily replace for you out of warranty. But sending a mouse to you won't affect Logitech's bottom line, and it will make sure you are a customer for life.

That's awesome - they offer to replace your mouse for free (even though it is out of warranty) and then they proceed to send you a better one.

I love my MX500, only reason why I'd replace it is if it craps out on me and if I did it would be another logitech, they rule.

I'm a former Microsoft mouse owner, won't go back, they feel cheap or something, no weight to them.

I gave up on my MX700 because it was a pain to get it to actually recognize that it was in the charger.

Yeah.... that's common. Wipe the contacts on the back of the mouse with a clean cloth, and then sit the mouse in the cradle at an angle, and rotate it into place. That works the great majority of the time.
