Logitech Customer Support - UPDATED

Platypus

Lifer
I'd always heard great stories about them but I had never had an issue with my MX700 until last night. I noticed it was 'double clicking' everything even if I single clicked with the left button.

Problem isn't important, anyway I called them today and in 15 minutes, they sent me a brand new MX700 no questions asked for FREE 2 years after the warranty expired!!! I got this pup in 2002.

Very pleased! I'll be purchasing more from them in the future. I love my mx700

UPDATE: They sent me an MX1000!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't had any issues with my MX700(s) either. They are fine for gaming and they have survived several drops onto the tile floor.

In other news, it is good to hear about a company that has awesome customer support.

They did the same for me on a rechargeable mouse. Not only did they send the mouse, but the matching keyboard that goes with it. It's the reason I will always use their keyboard/mouse products.

i had a mouse crap out and they sent me one in a few days, didn't even have to send the damaged one back. I exclusively use their mice and keyboards.

I've had great experiences with Logitech customer support in the past. Was having problems with my MX700 way back (2 years ago or so) and they sent me a whole new MX Duo combination...sub died in my Z-640 speakers last summer and they sent me a new set of X-530's (the model that replaced mine since mine weren't in production anymore). Spent very little time on the phone with them in both cases. If only all companies were that good about support 😛

They are very good, I couldn't install the iTouch software it said my OS wasn't supported (XP SP2), they had a actual software guy there call me, and we figured out it was because XP has a registry entry showing I had 64-bit CPU and for some reason the install software they use took that as a 64-bit OS, he updated the install software and sent me a new version within the day.

Looks like I have a nice backup.

It's not worth it for Logitech to refurb them.

haha no, I don't work for them 😛

Just wanted to pass on some good news about a corp for once.

eelw: yeah I figured as much but sometimes companies do that to make sure you actually have the product.. it would have been very easy to scam a free mouse from them.

Yup, they are great.

Got a brand new ITB MX1000 on warranty replacement for the same issue (double-clicking 20% of the time with only a single button press).

They said scratch the number off of the old receiver + mouse, so I did...

And then sold the receiver on Ebay for $10.

Interesting, that describes the problem I'm having exactly.

Oh well, it lasted 3 years of heavy use 😛
