Logitech Cordless Keyboard Just Quits!

i bought a Logitech cordless mouse & keyboard set 2 like 4-5 months ago and now it just starting to quit on me, i checked the batteries and stuff its plugged in and everything, i just dont get it! :| its messed up, does anyone know what the problem could be? (and yes the reciever is working fine it will still connect with the mouse and keyboard.)

Doh! So mouse is ok but keyboard isn't? That sucks. I was looking to buy a logi cordlesss keyboard recently too.

I could never use a cordless anything - just doesn't refresh fast enough.

I have the Logitech Cordless Freedom Optical, and the only time it gives me trouble is when the batteries die, or if I accidentally unplug the PS/2 cables from my motherboard.

it worked great and refreshed fast and everything......when it worked. now it just stops working on me i dont get it.

I had the black one.. Freedom I think? Anyways, I didn't like the mouse so I used my old Intellimouse Optical instead. The keyboard was nice when it worked, but sometimes it wouldn't respond and stuff.. backed to a corded Microsoft Office keyboard now.

It was obviously said in the post if you read it. He never said he changed them, but he checked them, I guess they were ok.

I've had the Logitech cordless desktop for over 3 years, no probs. Refresh rate is fine, same as it was when I used the standard corded keyboard/mouse I had previously. I use NiMH rechargeables in it tho.

Maybe you put the batteries in it backwards and fried it. That would suck.

Have you pushed both the reset buttons. There's one on the receiver and on keyboard.

The cordless keyboard refreshs as fast as an RF signal can be transmitted which is much faster than allowable PS2 inputs per second. If you're faster than RF you're probably the Flash or some other super hero. You should be fighting crime not racing your input signals on your PC.

sorry that was my bad explaing what "checked the batteries" ment, what i ment was that i did *change* them.
and i never even knew that you could fry something by putting the batteries in backwords. can that really happen? how do i know if i thats what happened (or do i?)

You could try checking the current draw when it is on. Also checking for voltages inside of the unit, starting from the batteries to the circuit board at least to see if there is still contact. Course you have to have these basic skills to attempt this.

Also did you try checking something simpler like if the receiver is plugged in properly? Also perhaps the mobo is the problem? Try a regular corded keyboard yet?

Just email Logitech with the Serial numbers, model and part number and they will send you a whole new set for free. You don't even need to fax them your receipt. At least that is what they did for me when I purchased a used one from someone on FS/FT and the mouse didn't work when I got it.

i have yes tried another keyboard and it works, its not the mobo and i also know the reciever is plugged in correctly, i am gonna do what CPA told me 2 thanks CPA
