*Rebate amounts are up to this amount, not to exceed the purchase price of the less expensive of the 2 products purchased.

Therefore, if you buy a logitech mouse for $10, your rebate will only be $10. If you buy something more expensive than the keyboard, the rebate amount will be the max rebate price or the price of the keyboard, whichever one is cheaper.

Is this the rebate?
http://www.logitech.com/cf/products/productoverview.cfm/16

because if it is, the asterisk says "rebate amounts are up to this amount, no to exceed the purchase price of the the less expensive of the two products pruchased"

so basically it's more like "buy a keyboard, get $50 off the second item." still a good deal considering that you buy the keyboard for $35

Just to clarify, Jemecki's post should have read:

"buy a keyboard (iTouoch Keyboard), get $20 off the second item -- buy a keyboard and mouse (Desktop iTouch & Desktop Pro) and get $40 or $50 off the second item"

Well I dont know about the most current cordless keyboards, but I had one made by Acer and it was a piece of junk. The only way to get it to work was to have it directly pointed at the reciever, and if you accidently moved it at the wrong angle it would stop working. On top of that my computer wouldnt even start up with the damn thing pluged in. I had to unplug my keyboard to start up my computer and then plug it back in once it had loaded windows LOL. Well maybe some of the newer models of wireless keyboards are better but mine totaly sucked and I dont feel like trying it again :).

The Logitech Cordless Keyboard is incredible. Of the $1500 I've spent on my new computer, the keyboard is probably the coolest thing I bought (the Athlon chip is cool, but you can't really touch it). I bought this thing in the beginning of May and it's been going strong on the same batteries since. I have the receiver hidden somewhere under my desk and the keyboard just has to be in the general area for it to work (i have it on my desk).

If you have the receiver so that it has LOS (line of sight) with the keyboard, it can be used from 15-20 feet away. I think I'm going to get another one of these things since I bought my first keyboard within the rebate time and the second one will cost only like $15 after the rebate.

Interesting: The rebate can be from 2 separate purchases. No restrictions except only in US, Austalia, and New Zealand.
So, find your best buy for each item separately, (different resellers) and you can still get one of those rebates.

There are 2 methods of achieving a cordless connection. Infrared and RF. The Acer uses Infrared, line of site, which means the transmitter (keyboard) must be pointed at the receiver. I have one, and it bites. Speed is often reduced with this method. The Logitech uses RF, and works like a radio transmitter and receiver with antennas, only at very short range. Doesn't matter where you point the transmitter (keyboard), as long as it's within the range. Much faster than infrared, and speed is equal to regular corded keyboard. I have the cordless desktop, which includes a cordless mouse. No drivers or software are needed for it to function correctly. Once you try the Logitech cordless, you will never go back to a corded system. Fantastic product.

Aside from the rebate issues others have mentioned, Staples prices on the eligible keyboards are quite high.

itouch - $56.49 ($41 on Shopper) ($20 rebate w/other purchase)
iTouch Pro - $121.99 ($85 on Shopper) ($50 rebate w/other)

They don't appear to offer the iTouch desktop, which includes a mouse.

The point is, don't waste the $25 off $50 on the logitech deal. You're not doing yourself any favors.

You're throwing away $15 on the iTouch, and $35 on the pro.

This is not accurate. Pls notice the "Up to " in the rebate and call their CSR for details. I have post a way to get the keyboard as well as a mouse.

RF Logitech K/B rocks. Ive been using it for years. No special special drivers/software since all comm. is done through bios in RF reciever. Range >6' & goes through just about anything.

got mine refurbished from compgeeks for $45, now @ $39

The Logitech Keyboard uses RF (Radio Frequency) which means you don't need to have to point it towards your computer. Older wireless keyboards and mice used IR (Infared) much like you remote control. You had to have a line of sight for it to work well.
Aaah screw...sorry to repeat...thats what I get for not reading ALL the responses...doh!

Do not plan to use that cordless mouse for gaming. It is ok at first, then becomes a problem after awhile. The movement becomes erratic.

But they keyboard is nice, and I still use that now for gaming and regular usage.

Watch for low batteries as you will get repeated letters, some will not show, and you will die/lose at whatever game you're playing.

I own this and the wireless mouse. It came as a set and personally, I love it because it has all these great features on the keyboard but the only thing I hate about it is that if the receiver is misplaced, all these funky things start happening.

As for the rebate, I got this keyboard and mouse set for $80 .. used $40 of my VA dollars and received my $20 VA rebate. Now I've been waiting forever for my $20 rebate from Logitech and as you can see, I've given up on this for awhile. Most likely, they didn't honor it because they didn't want me to have this for free. Those bastards :)

If anyone gets the rebate from Logitech or have gotten it in the past, please let me know. I'm going to contact them soon but most likely I'll hear the same BS I hear from other companies. "Oh we've never received the rebate request. When did you submit them?" etc. etc.

I always photocopy the rebate form with the receipt and UPC code. Sad to say, but I think a lot of companies wait for people to call before they'll give you the rebate, and they will then want a copy of everything.

Btw, for anyone with a cramped desk, getting a flatscreen monitor which can be set to the side of the desk, and coupling that with the cordless keyboard/mouse combo would be a great way to go (hide the PC under the desk)--much better than getting a notebook computer just because of its tiny footprint.

As another example of the utility of this cordless technology, I use a cushioned recliner chair with my computer. For "normal" mouse use, I use a Logitech cordless on my armrest--which makes the lack of a cord very handy. For gaming use, I have a USB corded mouse (which can be plugged in simultaneously) and I place a 12"X36" board across the armrests to hold my keyboard and mouse.
