I'm going to buy a new mouse for my birthday :) It's mainly for gaming purposes, which would u take?
They both cost about the same. I might look at the mx700 as well but I'm a bit doubtful of it's responsiveness cause it's a wireless one and I absolutely don't want lag.

I`m going to buy the Logitech MX500,I don`t like cordless version because if the battery runs low in gaming you need to change or recharge it,the new MX range is better then the old Dual Optical which only scans at 2000Hz,the new range scans at incrediable 8000Hz so no skipping period due to fast movements ,both the MX500 and MX700 have 8 buttons as well.

Note the Dual optical only uses one optical sensor at any one time ,not both, the DSP determines which sensor is giving the best reading and uses that sensor.

hmmm that recharging would be annoying. I wonder how long you could play a game using the mouse without recharging it?

I did read somebody said he was recharging his MX700 every 2 days.

The MX500 looks funky, but too freaky for my taste. Frankly I don't really like the designs of Logitech's higher end mice - I prefer their lower end mice's design, which is why I have a FirstMouse 3-button coupled with a Microsoft Intellimouse Optical(6000Hz scanrate ain't shabby either)
