Login Screen Question

I have a new HP dm1-4010us ultra portable. Nice little rig. First thing I did when I opened it was to run the Minimized Ssystem Image.
One little quirk I'm trying to solve now. When I start the computer it boots up to the login screen rather than going straight to the desktop, which is my preference.
Also, when it goes to the login screen it shows two accounts: my account, and then a second one which has my name on it and the Bluetooth icon If I go to control panel>accounts, that mysterious account isn't listed.
Can someone shed some light on this? Thank you.

Have you set a password for your account?

if you press the windows key + R, and type "Control userpasswords2" it will bring up the XP style user accounts panel. You can "uncheck" the users must enter a password & username to login box (or whatever its called)

this might help you go straight in.

Unadvised though - Microsoft put these measures in for a reason.

Mongrelchops - Please enlighten me on why it's so much better to click a non password icon instead of just simply going straight to the desktop. Either way there is no password so who cares?

If you are saying people should have passwords on there systems why? If someone has physical access to there machine and wants information, they will get it with or without a password 😉

When the machine is off and I fire it up it will go straight to the desktop. That's good.
But if I awaken it from sleep mode, that's when it goes to the login screen with the mysterious Bluetooth account. When I click on my account to get past this screen, it then goes right to the desktop. No password required as there is no password on my account.

So you are annoyed that you have to click 1 button when awakening from sleep mode? I suggest you re-write an operating system that doesn't have that function then....or disable sleep mode...or not worry about 1 click.

Fastamdman - I didn't write that it is better to have the user login screen without a password.

People don't need physical access to get onto a system, but user credentials is stage 1 of the entry. If the system logs straight in, you are effectively leaving your front door unlocked and hoping people don't try the handle?

Carbo there is a setting for user prompt upon wake up or for resume and
Screen saver - have a look under power settings and or screen saver.
