Logical Upgrade for my system?

Hey guys, I built my gaming PC a few years ago and haven't upgrade much/at all since then, so I was wondering if there's anything new and useful.
Here's my build:
CPU: i5-3570k
GPU: EVGA GTX 770 (had a 670, but a friend gave me the 770, so that's the "upgrade")
Storage: Samsung 840 256GB and some 2TB drive
Mobo: AsRock Z77 Extreme4 (1155 socket)
RAM: 8GB DDR3
Monitor: ASUS 1080p

I was thinking a new GPU would be in order since mine can't run as many games at high/max at decent framerates anymore. What do you guys think?

Yep, new GPU again. You might also want more RAM. And have you overclocked the CPU? What heat sink is on it?

Several options here. What's your budget and what games are you having trouble with?

I've overclocked my CPU to a x41 multiplier (4.1GHz). It's on a Cooler Master 212 Evo/Plus, not sure which but they're basically the same.
I think I'll go with ~$500or less budget for an upgrade. My PC has trouble running The Witcher 3 on higher settings, Fallout 4, not sure if it'll run BF1 when it comes out.

It sounds like a nice GTX 1070 and some more RAM (another 8 GB stick) would do you nicely.

I've got two 4gb sticks of some frequency DDR3 (can't check right now) in right now, should I go with 1 8gb stick of the same frequency DDR3, 2 sticks of 4gb or change to DDR4?

You can't run DDR4 in that mobo. You would have to move up to a Haswell-E or Skylake rig for DDR4.
Ah okay that makes sense. If I were to do that I might as well upgrade my CPU, but thatd be costly for the three.
I'd get the most bang for my buck with the GPU and RAM it looks like.
