Lockups - Duplicate Devices in Device Manager

I'm showing like 6 hard drives and controllers in Device Manager in Safe Mode for the 2 physical drives I have, and am experiencing lots of mysterious lockups and inability to complete demanding operations, like Norton AV full scan. Should I delete all these devices, and will Win98 automatically reinstall?

that's what I'd do & yes windows will redetect on bootup & reinstall the devices!
