I've been having trouble with my computer locking up ever since i installed windows XP.
Its fairly random (ie reformat and blank isntall of xp and it locked up even) and all that happens is the computer just halts...no hd lights...no ctrl alt del availible...mouse stops moving....all i can do is just turn it off.
I've tried various other cards in my computer and I think I've narrowed it down to the motherboard but just want to make sure and see if anyone has had the ame prob.
Comp speks as fallows:
PCChips m810lr Motherboard
256 MB RAM (swapped with Dell Brand memory...soemtimes 2 sticks up to 512..other times a regular micron stick just 256) PC133
Used both onboard video and Elsa Galdiac GTS 32mb (both had lcok ups)
Hollywood+ Card (locked up)
Using the onboard LAN (maybe this can cause probs?)
AMR modem (dont use however)
On board and Sound Blaster Live Xgamer (both have had same phenominom)
Xerox Printer
any ideas be appreciated....i've tried most combinations...and i know win 2000 and win 98 work(have installed them on this board as well)....I'd really like to keep XP however.
