Lockin up when put cd in.

Here be my problem, when i stick any cd other than a blank cd into my TDK my system locks up completely, right when it starts spinning, windows locks. and when i DO put in a blank cd, it reads it as a cd-rom with noting on it so i cant burn anything. Thanks for any help (PLEASE DONT SAY ITS BUSTED!!)

Ok, I won't. Buuttt...It kinda sounds like it is. I has this happen to me with a CD/RW that I was using in one of my Mac's where when I would insert a disk, It would spin up and down and eventually lock the whole system. Replaced the drive with a standard CD-Rom drive and all was good again. This particular drive was pulled from my wifes' PC and I also had problems with it locking that up too, but under different situations. Again, replaced rive and all was good. Try another drive if you have one and see if that cures the problem.

when i stick something into my DVD its fine, just the burner. CRUD CRUD CRUD!!
