Locked threads in General Hardware

I see that the mods are doing something that should've been done a long time ago, locking more off-topic threads in GH.

I just have one suggestion. If you lock a thread because its not a GH thread, but can be applied to one of the other forums, please write the suggested forum the thread should be in. Like in this thread: Text

The moderator could easily have added "this belongs in the software forum" at the bottom.
That way people know which questions go where. Personally I didn't know this virtual memory thread shouldn't be in GH.

Just a suggestion.
 
Locked threads should be swift and with no explanation.

If the mods explained themselves then how could he/she uphold his/her reputation as a prick?
