Well i'm having a bit of an issue with another computer at the moment. I did not activate it within 30 days and now everytime i try and log onto windows it asks to activate (as expected).
Now here lies the problem, we've somehow gotten into an activation loop, and everytime i click on the user account > yes, to activate, it just kicks me back out to the user menu. I've tried going in, in safemode, in both the user an admin account. Neither work because they both say "you need to activate" I've tried reseting the clock back, in the bios but that doesn't help either.

So can someone pls help?

Thanks

Or not *feels even more like a tool* :( Ok, the problem now, is that we can get into safe mode, except we need to backup some files to my computer. There is a problem with this. I can't get into safemode with networking, i can only get into safemode. So is there anyway of initializing drivers for the network in normal safemode? Or is there someway i could possible get the files over and onto my computer?

All help is greatly appreciated!!

Thank-you

If your press ctrl alt del twice you can login to the admin account usually on a normal startup. If it has been setup to allow file sharing you just need to get to the windows xp startup screen and you can transfer files.

Remove the hard drive and either insert it as a secondary drive in another XP PC, or put it in an external USB housing and attach that to another XP computer. You may have to "take ownership" of the files in order to transfer them, if you are refused access to the files.

If you have problems with Windows Activation, call MS.

Try the phone activation number first of course, but in this case I think you need to call MS tech support. Same guys that do the $245 per incident support, but in your case explain what the problem is and it will be free of charge.

They'll fix you. Guarantee it.
