Locked Out?

Well I had some trouble with SP2 and my computer would just keep restarting over and over again. So I thought that I should just my WinXp w/ SP2 to install over my current installation so that I could keep all my settings and everything. Well during setup I had to create a new user and when i boot in and login as that user I cant get into my old users file. it says "C:\Documents and Settings\Mike is not accesible. Access is denied." How do I get back into those files? And "Mike" the old user isn't un the user accounts list. Thanks

Login w/ "Administrator"...that should get you access to the files.

you need to take ownership of those files.

when i right click the folder there is no security tab and I am logged in as an admin 🙁

i turned off "simple file sharing" and now i see the tab. thanks guys 🙂

If you don't remember Admin pass, their are some boot disk you can create that will overwrite the administration PAssword so that you can get in and fix everything. I have it somewhere, PM me if you want it.
