Locked file problem.

There is a locked file on my computer that I can't seem to delete. I have tried a bunch of software programs but they haven't worked. I have even tried deleting it in does but it won't do it. Can anyone help?

Windows XP seems to have this problem all the time with corrupted video files where file explorer will lock it and won't release it. What I always do is restart computer, make sure you don't start windows explorer, open dos prompt, navigate to that file via cd command, then use del command to delete it.

Other people on this board suggest deleting it using Nero's (burning rom) file manager. Nero is a cd burning program.

I've had success using cut and paste, I cut the file and paste it in the recycle bin.
