1: If you boot linux with lilo through a boot disk, where is the lilo.conf file? It's not on the disk and its not in the /etc directory
2: Locate doesn't seem to work. every time i try to use it, an error message comes up saying "locate: /var/lib/locate/locatedb: no such file or directory". How do I go about creating this database?
3: How can I change my resolution in text-mode? Is that even possible?

It should be in /etc. I boot with boot-disk, and lilo.conf is in /etc.
