This is the exact kind of statement that proves that most of the people who post negative things about Christianity/God/the Bible/et al here in AT really have no idea what they are talking about. Part of it stems from the general misassociation of all Christians with the extreme right wing Christians, but seemingly more and more it comes from sheer ignorance.
First of all, the entire Old Testament of the Bible essentially has nothing to do at all with Jesus, only the New Testament does. In addition, the New Testament isn't entirely the words of Christ either, it is mainly recounts from his Apostles, as well as from Paul (aka Saul of Tarsus), and others (such as John who authored Revelation).
As for the original question, I think the Bible is as legitimate as the Quran and the Torah in expressing the original, intended word of God. Are they word for word the direct quotations as originally received? Of course not, language evolution alone prevents that.
