I have an asus a7v133 running winxp and two ram chips. One is an apacer pc133 and one is a kingston value pc 133.
When both chips are installed and I am playing a graphically intense game like asherons call My pc will periodically lock up to the point I have to hard reboot.
When I pull one chip out (doesn't matter which) no lock ups.

Whats wierd about the lockups is that the whole pc just freezes and seems to repeate the last sound coming out the speakers.

I don't know if its the ram. I am not sure if they just don't work well togther.
I am not sure if its a problem on the motherboard.
I also don't know if there is something I can change in the bios that might solve the problem

Does anyone have a suggestion?

I think you have answered your own question.

Try putting one module in the 1st slot, and the second in the 3rd slot
to see if that clears up the issue.

I wanna fix this.
I am afraid to buy new ram incase its a problem with the mobo
and I don't want to buy anything if I can fix this in the bios

On top of that. I thought I could just buy a pc133 and I would be fine, so now I am afraid to buy another ram stick.

What are the markings on the Apacer RAM?
If it says 256MB UNB VC133 CL2 then I might be interested in buying/trading for it.
Then you could get another stick that would be more compatable with the Kingston. The Apacer is finicky stuff, it's not very friendly with mixed hardware. I don't know about all of their ram but mine will only work with VIA chipsets.
