kobe vs iverson, kobe vs, pierce, kobe vs, mcgrady, kobe vs jordan, who do you think is gonna get calls his way if they do match up?? no brainer, kobe of course. if a call could go either way, who gets in favor?? kobe again. lets say out of the blue moon he doesn't, and a call actually goes against him, god forbid, then you'll see one mad kobe jumping up and down, hollering, acting like a mad man. but no one dare give him a T.

i ain't hating cuz kobe is good, read my original thread. kobe is one of the if not THE greatest basketball player today.

Why I don't know, I would think Jordan (the greatest of all time, he has basically earned it) and Iverson (sympathy calls since hes so underzied) would get the calls. As for Pierce and Kobe I would say it would just be about even. Why don't you look at the FTA's that I put up? As you can see Kobe does not even come close to as many calls as the other players. If hes getting all the calls, how can he have so much less? He shoots a lot, he drives a lot, hes popular, just like all the rest with high FTA's. Technicals in no way are simply given for whining.

I don't see how admiiting his one of THE greatest basketball players proves anything. You still seem to hate him for that, as you hate him more than others that are far worse.

lets get something straight, the referreeing was most definetely NOT favoring the lakers in last years WCF. the only games that were ref'd fairly were games 1 and 7, both of which the lakers won. games 2-5 were ref'd horribly in the kings favor and game 6 was ref'd in the lakers favor (make-up for games 2-5).

as a matter of fact right after game 4 or 5 Cutino Mobley of the Rockets was on The Greatest Damn Sports Show Ever and said despite the fact that "Webber is his boy" the Kings were being aided by the refs

for the record:

if the refs consistenly put shaq in foul trouble the lakers are very beatable. if the refs call a fair game then you'll witness another 15-1 romp through the playoffs like two years ago

that white dude is mark madsen...why are you making fun of a guy who has team spirit and cheers on his teammates? if you've seen him on the court you would know he probably works the hardest out of all the lakers, even though he hardly plays (he is a sub for shaq and walker for godsakes) he hustles his ass like a madman which is commendable and why everyone in LA loves him :)

wow. it suddenly became off topic.

my opinon. when kobe complains, he's not angry. he looks at the refs then heads down the court. when he talks to the ref, he's just standing there talking andnot getting all emotional. then when he's done, he smiles and gets back to the ball game. notice when AI got a T today. he was really pissed off while he was complaining. kobe doesn't complain that way. that's why no T for him.

and shaq has skill, it's not just cuz he's big. if it was because of his size, then we'd see more big men in the nba.

I just don't think a highschool kid should be able to enter the NBA and choose what team he plays for...technically, he shouldn't be playin for the lakers..

i hope you're not talking about Kobe...because he was drafted by the hornets who TRADED him for Vlade...
maybe he wanted to play for the Lakers (his childhood favorite team), but then wasn't Charlotte like pretty much his Home team?

and as for the Shaq being good because he's an overweight guy that runs over people...
well, yeah he's overweight now...but when his feet were better he used to jump over people,
softest hands for a big man AND many wingmen,
quick quick quick for a 5, and even for a decent 4 (except the garnett/nowitzki - less post up bigs)
great footwork (jump step is always debatable, depending on which team you root for, but his drop step and his turn around is good work)
great passer out of the post

if he was only size...there was a guy Priest Lauderdale who was about 7'4'' and 340lbs...i think around 95 or 96...didn't last 2 seasons tho...(i think)

Reminder about Kobe and Shaq

Family Feud Survey Says

When General Managers are asked what current NBA player they would choose as their first pic to build a team around

it is almost a tie between Kobe or Shaq

AND you want to talk about whiners???

Look at Iverson... he was clearly laying out of bounds today when trying to get the ball back from Derek Fisher but mouths off in his most whiny little way and got a Techincal which then caused his coach to get a technical and then Tyrone Hill got a technical <<<<DOH!

All Whiners Team

Vlade Divac
Rasheed Wallace
Iverson
Jordan
Bonzi Wells
Don Nelson and Adelman

kobe complained same manner as everyone else. today's game he had the ball and when the other team was playing good defense and he missed his shot, he swung his right hand at anger and mouthed off at the ref who was like 5 feet away from him. the ref seemed like he didn't even notice. you know if it was AI that it would have been a T no questions asked. which it was. AI was whining about the call, but so was kobe in the same manner, but no T for kobe.

i even hate the friggin announcers. when kobe should have gotten a foul, and complains like a little beotch the announcer is like "what in the world is going wrong with the officiating", "what a terrible noncall", blah blah, but when the other team complains about a call like a beotch its always, "just play the game", "if you play the game good you wouldn't have to worry about the refs", "don't you notice that they complain right after they miss a shot not when they make it?" blah blah. i think its bill walton, that a hole.

shaq could barely dribble, and his free throws are horrendous. other than that he's pretty good for a basketball player.

um, that AI has taken more shots and if more aggressive to the hoop. So they took close to the same amount of free throws in the game today? so what...didn't I already tell you that AI was more aggressive? AI also took 8 more shots than Kobe.

So what are you getting at? Do you know what the topic of this thread is about? It's about whining. Did I say that Iverson doesn't whine? no. Could you please specify what you're getting at

Whats your point? This thread is about Kobe whining and getting all the calls. I'm proving he doesn't get all the calls, and his whining is just about similar to every other super star. Why doesn't he hate on the other players like Vlade, Iverson, Pierce, McGrady, Jordan, etc.?
rolleye.gif

I dont know what you're talking about actually. Whats all this stuff regarding the finals last years? Whats this talk about Shaq? This is about Kobe, and I have proven my point. Kobe is not the biggest whiner as he stated. Kobe is not getting preferential treament as compared to any other superstar.

It seems to me as hes just hating because Kobe is good, and the Lakers are winning.

kobe vs iverson, kobe vs, pierce, kobe vs, mcgrady, kobe vs jordan, who do you think is gonna get calls his way if they do match up?? no brainer, kobe of course. if a call could go either way, who gets in favor?? kobe again. lets say out of the blue moon he doesn't, and a call actually goes against him, god forbid, then you'll see one mad kobe jumping up and down, hollering, acting like a mad man. but no one dare give him a T.

thats a bunch of bull, how is it a no brainer that kobe will be favored in those matchups?? and players get upset all the time after a call they think they got stiffed on, doesnt mean they get a technical, if they curse at the refs etc, thats when they get the T

Why do I suspect that you are just an asshat that wants to try to piss off Lakers Fans ..... Your comments are those of a either a 9-10 year old or you are just trying to start trouble intentionally.

How were his comments any different from yours? You brought up some situation in the game where someone whined and he brought up one too. Other than that, your post only consisted of things not even dealing with the topic. Survey Says? what's that all about. Since when were we talking about which guy you would build a team around?
And nice whiners list...should be a bit longer though. But I like how King's people make up almost 1/3 of that list...seems like they struck a chord with you

no, imo, the announcers usually say what they see. they'll usually say "that was a terrible call" no matter which team it is.

i think ur biased, thats why u see it that way. but thats my opinion.

Paying a bunch of grown men to shoot a ball is whack! We pay them millions, and they decide if they want to play ball that night

Yes he was traded...but if you remember it wasn't w/o a lot of fuss on his part.

Oh please, Kobe isn't a whiner at all, especially compared to the likes of the Blazers.

I'd like to see how many Kobe/Shaq-haters here have watched more than 50% of the Laker games this season. Probably none of the haters. I've watched every Laker game expect for maybe 2 or 3 this season, and in fact just went to Staples this past Wednesday for the Pacers game (which was awesome btw). Seriously, if you haven't even watched a majority of the Laker games this season you really can't talk about how many calls Kobe or Shaq are getting, nor can you claim that Kobe is a complainer.

Additionally, how many here have watched more than 50% of the Kings, Spurs or Mavs season? I'm guessing not a single person here. I certainly have, and have probably only missed about 5 or 6 Kings/Spurs games each. I've probably seen about 55% or 60% of the Mav's season.

Honestly, the whole argument that Shaq and Kobe are good mostly (or even partly) because they get calls is simply ludicrous. Watch some actual games and stop whining.

Oh yeah, all I have to say after today's Laker victory is....Laker haters cry a little more..........:D

Oh yeah, how do you guys think Shaq played tonight? Here's what Philadelphia 76ers coach Larry Brown had to say:

"There was no way to guard Shaquille. The guy was phenomenal."

Here's what Iverson had to say:

"Larry Brown said something earlier at halftime. He doesn't know why they don't just throw him the ball every play. By not doing that, you allow teams the chance to keep playing with them. Just imagine if they kept throwing him the ball on every play. Nobody could do anything."

Here's what Dikembe Mutombo, a 4-time Defensive Player of the Year (that means he's a great defender if you haven't already guessed), had to say about Shaq:

"He really is a tough player to guard. Not just mentally but physically. He will try to overpower you and use his strength to dominate the game. He does this very well."

Clearly Shaq is only good because he's big and tall........................

actually it sounds like mutombo was saying thats where quite a bit of shaq's basketball ability came from.

robert horry was asked in an interview whether hakeem or shaq was better

horry replied that hakeem was better, but shaq was improving and would be better eventually.

heres the thing. shaq is not improving. shaq is not as good as he was a couple years ago.

this thread is about hating on kobe... why the hate? cuz he complains at calls?? so does everyone else... however... you can't knock on the guy's competetive will, raw talent, and work ethic... i mean... the guy works the sh!t out of himself every off season to get better, plays to win, night in and night out... what more do you want from a guy? oh, i'm sorry, he whines at the refs...

i haven't read all the posts but what about the SACRAMENTO WHINERS? all they seem to be good at it whining. according to them they have never ever fouled anybody, all they get is bad calls. if there is one person who doesn't whine, I think that it is KOBE and SHAQ, when was the last time they got a T?

he knows which fights are worth picking with the refs. since when is it cheap to plead with a ref once or twice a game?

I'll agree with that...while I wasn't thrilled w/ is attitude when arriving to the NBA I think he's matured a great deal and represents himself very well for only 24 (He could be successful teaching behavior classes to guys like Artest and sheed)

And you gotta root for the guy..he's well on his way to doing some great historical things...very cool.

Edit: Almost forgot --- Go KINGS!:p
