The only thing that I have to say about the lakers getting calls is thats a bunch of bullshlt. Anybody that watched last years playoffs would tell you that starting with the San Antonio series the refs were out to make the games compeditive by putting shaq in foul trouble at every opportunity. The poor referreeing reached a pinacle during games 2-5 of the Sacramento series. To make the claim that the Lakers get the calls is simply frivolous (sp?). I will, however, readily admit that the Lakers got the calls in their favor in game 6 of the WCF last year.

Bryant, Shaq dont get any more calls in their favor than any other player. Heck I watched Shaq vs Yao I earlier this year and the lakers couldnt so much breath on Steve Francis before a foul would be called and Kobe wasnt getting any calls that game (nor was he whinning about it) - but thats just the way things go from time to time in the NBA.

The biggest whinners Ive seen in the league are Allen Iverson, Elden Campbell, Mike Bibby, and Rick Adelman. Heck, Adelman and Bibby readily admit that they think the Kings were robbed last year. Its quite pathetic.

[edit]how can i leave Vlade off the biggest whinners list? he is the king of all whinners.[/edit]

gotta love how you didn't phrase it "...got whooped on by the lakers" because the lakers are nothing without bryant. One man show.

bryant and co = bryant and company = the entire laker squad. how come laker haters always sound so disgruntled and pissed off like they have a personal vendetta against kobe/shaq? before you criticize a player, do your homework. you guys really make yourself look like a dumbass

how come laker lovers always have a blind eye to when disgruntled and pissed off laker haters raises valid argument?

valid argument? oh my god that's the funniest sh1t i've heard in awhile. all you're doing is throwing out blind opinions backed by your complete hatred and nothing else.

I don't have a team to root for. My hometown team is the lakers but I refuse to root for them because I think Shaq is a horrible player and it pisses me off when people say he is awesome when really he's just big. I never said kobe wasn't good.

On a side note who is that white guy sitting on the lakers bench who seems to NEVER play but yet is constantly yelling and screaming acting like he just made the game winning shot everytime the lakers do something good.

you don't even know who the players are and you think you have a valid opinion? try carrying 350lbs and running up and down the court for 40+ minutes. try to do pivot and reverse layups at that big of a size. shaq is big and yes he uses it to his advantage. but the guy definately has some skills. but of course the entire nba is WRONG right?

btw, you're probably thinking of slava medvedenko (however u spell it).

it's so funny to see how much laker fans hate the kings. 2 years ago they wouldn't have even uttered that team's name, but now since they went to OT in game 7 of the Western Conference Finals, it seems like some people are scared.

Anyone who says that the Lakers do not get favorable calls are out of their minds. I'm not saying that if the calls were even then the Lakers wouldn't be a good time, but they hands down get favorable calls. A majority of the time Shaq gets the ball, he either commits an offensive foul or travels...yet it amazes me how a defensive foul is somehow called.

I would have never dreamed that Mike Bibby and Rick Adelman would be near the top of list for whiners in the entire NBA. Just shows what laker fans have on their minds

No, I wouldn't complain if Kobe was on my team. But what does that have to do with whining? That's what this thread is about...maybe you should go back through and read it and THEN give us your comments. Did I ever say that Vlade Divac didn't whine? no. Did I say that I didn't like him? no.

Try making a valid point next time...then this thread might actually get somewhere

Halftime GAME 2 WCF 2002
Shaq 3 fouls
Kobe 2 fouls
Fisher 3 fouls
Fox 2 fouls
Walker 3 fouls
and then there were others too

Lakers had like a total of 16 or 18 personal fouls

Ings and FOUR or 5

What do you have to say about that?

um...ok
Let's see...looking back at the Western Conference Finals, who could actually deny that the King's played better ball throughout the whole series? Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, knows that the kings played better. Remember when Ralph Nader actually called out the refs about how bad they were? Game 6 was just embarrassing....that pointed out many flaws in the NBA.
I actually thought it was preposterous how Laker fans said that the refs were against the Lakers in that series. I'm sorry, but this really isn't a debatable point.

So in game 2 the Lakers had a bunch of fouls. Remember how much the Kings drove in that series? Remember how in game 6 LA shot like 40 something free throws to 10+ something for the kings?

as for shaq traveling and offensive fouling, that the way you play ball, ( cept the traveling, he's tweaking the rules with the jump step - still legal)
the big men, centers/power forwards, are allowed to push with their backs in order to gain better position
you just can't be stupid and bull your way over people...
and have you ever seen what kind of beating shaq takes? if it was anyone smaller, there would be a flagrant foul or two every game...
just because he's bigger doesn't mean he feels the bumps and bruises after...i mean, players start climbing on this guy sooner or later

as for the whining...
biggest whiner IMO, is Vlade...he flops, whines, and repeat....
only reason i put Vlade on that list is because he flops and whines...
if you don't get a call your way in the heat of them game i'm sure everyone would whine or try to prove their point...
but you can hate all you want (thread poster)- Lakers are champions for now....
its not going to go on forever, but they had a hard way coming up here, and they're here to stay (for now)

If you want to start getting nitpicky about fouls regarding Shaq, then we shoudl do so. 99% of the time when players are fouling Shaq, they are not going for the ball. When you make no attempt for the ball and hit the player that is a flagrant foul. If you want consistency and fairness, there you go.

Regarding Irverson getting less FTA this last game. Uhhh, 3 FTA by Kobe were for the technical fouls. So it would be 10 FTA by Kobe, and 9 FTA by Iverson. Pretty damn even I say. Furthermore, Iverson was shooting outside rather than driving in for most of the game. Did you not see the several airballs and bricks?

Here take at the top 10 of FTA of the game (in order).

1 Paul Pierce - 556
2 Allen Iverson - 556
3 Tracy McGrady - 538
4 Kobe Bryant - 523
5 Tim Duncan - 488
6 Steve Francis - 485
7 S. O'Neal - 464
8 Karl Malone - 442
9 Pau Gasol - 441
10 S. Abdur-Rahim - 439

I'd say thats pretty damn consistent. Kobe Bryant getting all the calls?

What more do you have to say now?

Please, it's like you trying to run into a brick wall and complain about it. What's the point of getting a big player if you are not going to use his size and strength to your advantage. Calling foul on Shaq just because just about everyone who jumps at him will look like they hit a brick wall is not fair. It's not his fault that players who jump in and foul him couldn't do a thing and look like they have a head on collision with a runaway train. Shaq should wear a saddle to every one of his games so those who guard him will not have to ride him bareback.

Yeah, Shaq's jump step is obviously traveling, but they hardly ever call it. And yes, backing up isn't a foul, but when he throws his shoulder into it, that is a foul. He does take a lot of beatings, but what else would you expect when you are a 400 lb fat a55 who just runs over people.

And yes, Vlade does whine a lot, but we are getting away from the topic of this thread. It was about Kobe whining, and my point was that Kobe shouldn't whine because he gets all-star treatment. Vlade, on the other hand, doesn't get as many calls his way, so it's almost as though it's more acceptable for him to whine. I'm not saying that it's good for some people to whine and other's not to. But when you are treated like an all-star and better than everyone else in the league, at least realize that and feel proud about that.

exaclty, he should realize how good he is, that he gets special treatments from refs cuz he's superstar, and therefore should get off the refs back. the refs are already stroking his c0ck, what more does he want? them to bend over???

Whats your point? This thread is about Kobe whining and getting all the calls. I'm proving he doesn't get all the calls, and his whining is just about similar to every other super star. Why doesn't he hate on the other players like Vlade, Iverson, Pierce, McGrady, Jordan, etc.?
rolleye.gif

I dont know what you're talking about actually. Whats all this stuff regarding the finals last years? Whats this talk about Shaq? This is about Kobe, and I have proven my point. Kobe is not the biggest whiner as he stated. Kobe is not getting preferential treament as compared to any other superstar as he stated.

It seems to me as hes just hating because Kobe is good, and the Lakers are winning. If you want to hate whiners there are far worse examples out there. The complaint is shallow and has no backing, but rather an excuse to hate Kobe.

I didn't even bring up the stuff about the playoffs last year...someone else went on that tangent.

And yes, let's get back on topic.
You say that Kobe doesn't get good calls, but I say he does. But I also say that all the superstars get favorable calls. It's just that some of them whine more than others. And I would think that Kobe is up there on that list. That doesn't mean that he is the top of that list...maybe Rasheed and AI actually do whine more than him. My point is just that they need to realize that and it's very sad how these well respected NBA players take their position for granted and whine about calls when many other hard working NBA players get the shaft of things.

Alright. Agreed. I have no qualms about what you say. yes, I wish more superstars woud just STFU and play the game.

But this talk about him getting preferential treatment over ALL else is absurd. He gets the same calls as all the other superstars. And to hate him over others that are far worse? Again, the thread creators complaint was just an excuse to hate Kobe.

So what are you getting at? Do you know what the topic of this thread is about? It's about whining. Did I say that Iverson doesn't whine? no. Could you please specify what you're getting at

Whats your point? This thread is about Kobe whining and getting all the calls. I'm proving he doesn't get all the calls, and his whining is just about similar to every other super star. Why doesn't he hate on the other players like Vlade, Iverson, Pierce, McGrady, Jordan, etc.?

I dont know what you're talking about actually. Whats all this stuff regarding the finals last years? Whats this talk about Shaq? This is about Kobe, and I have proven my point. Kobe is not the biggest whiner as he stated. Kobe is not getting preferential treament as compared to any other superstar.

It seems to me as hes just hating because Kobe is good, and the Lakers are winning.

kobe vs iverson, kobe vs, pierce, kobe vs, mcgrady, kobe vs jordan, who do you think is gonna get calls his way if they do match up?? no brainer, kobe of course. if a call could go either way, who gets in favor?? kobe again. lets say out of the blue moon he doesn't, and a call actually goes against him, god forbid, then you'll see one mad kobe jumping up and down, hollering, acting like a mad man. but no one dare give him a T.

i ain't hating cuz kobe is good, read my original thread. kobe is one of the if not THE greatest basketball player today.

Alright. Agreed. I have no qualms about that.

alright...well at least we can end this in peace
I don't think he gets preferential treatment over ALL others. I think there is a category of NBA players who get good treatment...and within that category, some whine more than others.
And I don't hate Kobe over all others. I think he is one of the greatest basketball players. I was just trying to point out a flaw of his
