Its both a software and hardware question really so not really one place thats better than the other to post this question.

Besides I actually wanted an answer and theres a lot more traffic on OT than any other section as everyone is well aware of.

No, you can't. You should also state what HAuppauge card you have, not that it really matters.
You still can't use that remote with that card.
If you have the right kind of card, I'll sell you a remote and receiver for it. Depends on what OS you're running, too.

I just called Hauppauge's tech support number listed on their website and asked them for you. They said no. "Unless it's a Phillips remote, it's not going to work. The WinTV Go has no IR inputs or software supporting IR so there's no way to control it with an IR remote anyway."

Bam.
