*Please Lock. I realised that I'd have to re-install the OS if I got new hardware, so I'm off to get a 4th k7s5a.

--Someone in OT said I should post this here instead. Please let me know if this is not a good place to post my request and I'll delete it.--

Ok. Of all the times for my second computer to die, it just did. I desperately need to get a system up and running right now, so I need to figure out what I should get. I've lost 3 k7s5as in the past few months, so that's out. I'm inclined to switch back to Intel since I've had so many AMD systems die recently. However, I need to find a good deal in town so I can go get it right now.

Please post what you think would be a good but inexpensive combo for me, with a preferance to items that may be carried locally. I'm in Phoenix, so my options are CompUSA, Best Buy, Fry's, Office Max, and Staples.

Requirements:
1. STABLE
2. Must be able to pick up localy today
3. STABLE
4. Inexpensive
5. STABLE
6. I have a case, video, etc, so I just need a mobo, proc, and ram if I can't re-use my DDR 2100.

Thanks for any help. I am seriously DESPERATE!!!

To pre-answer a few questions:
I have tired several cases, including one new one.
I am not overclocking

ASUS A7N8X nforce2. I hate nvidia video cards, but I thought I would give nforce2 a try when my KT400 chipset MB wouldn't work correctly under 98se (even though it was fine under XP). They have a cheaper version for about $130 locally. MSI has a K7N2 (which is actually what I got), but the onboard sound didn't work, and there is no joystick port, so I put in my SBLive card that I already had (better sound anyway). It only ran $107.

Thanks for the info. I just realised that to avoid an OS re-install due to different IDE controller drivers, I probably need to get the k7s5a at least for the next week. When my urgent need is done, I'll have to check out an nforce for a permanant board. I've heard good things about them too.
