You, my friend, are the man... I just started that canon S200/S330 post but never went for it myself because I was waiting for a badass deal on this cam... people, jump on this one, but please don't abuse it so the little people like me can get in on it!

Obvious pricing error and CompUSA will not honor it. It is near impossible to get CompUSA to honor the legitimate prices for the web printout sales letalone a pricing error. Their disclaimer at he bottom of the page give them an out...

Any typographical, photographic or production error in products, pricing or offers is subject to correction.

Too bad they had to include "*after rebates" disclaimer in the ad as you might be able to PM somewhere else if they did not inlude that statement.

<< Check out this Compusa ad that starts this Sunday.

CompUsa Ad: March 31st through April 6th

This camera got a 7 out of 10 at Cnet: Review The user opinions are excellent though. 97% out of 323 people.

Not only do you get the camera, you also get a free starter kit.

NO F'N WAY!!!!!! THis is a 10X image stabilized camera!!!!! It's highly sought after by photographers! I'll be making a 50 mile trip to the nearest CompUSA if this is legit!!!!!

Supposed to be $499, and it is by far, the best $500 camera out there because it has a 10X zoom optical image stabilized lens. This model has been discontinued; with the newer model 700X not having the IS feature. This camera sold for $1,000 not too long ago.

This cam comes with the remote too, making it realy kick butt... I wish I could see the rebates though, I mean I could care less if it's after a $450 mail in, but I need to make sure this is LEGIT, as I don't have a compUSA within 125miles, but would be willing to drive out the 2-3 hour drive to get one of these.

I considered the typo possiblilty too.

But if it is a typo and it's supposed to say$499.97 meaning it sells for $499.97 before any rebates, why would they list is as $499.97 after price breaks and rebate?

I would tend to think it's a typo too. But, you never know, with the 3 and 4 Megapixels on the market they may be trying to move theses. Still, it does seem to good to be true. I bet it involves a huge mail in rebate that will take months if ever to fulfill. Reminds me of two years ago, presidents day, I spent a huge amount of money at compUSA, must have sent in 20-30 rebates. I received all of my rebates except for the most expensive one. It was for some animation software that I never even planned to use. If I remember correctly it was a $75 rebate. Still who couldn't use an extra digital camera.

The link is working now.

Click on the product and it shows you the real price... $499.97.

Still, a great deal if you can get them to honor the $49...but this would never happen at my CompUSA! :|

Somebody verify this! I want it! 🙂

I find it strange that there's not one person from Anandtech that works at CompUSA 🙂

stonecold3169 - If you want this camera, better go get it before the ad comes out, because they are getting very difficult to find anyplace other than CompUsa, as they are discontinued, and you may not even be able to find it there, even before the ad comes out.

Everyone - don't waste your time on this one. It's a $500 camera, and you will not get it for $49!

Its not good until sunday anyway (so the rebates probably aren't showing up yet), way too long for them to fix the error if it is one. Darnit!

Of course it adds to your cart at $499.97. Of course there is no rebate listed. If it is legitimate the sale doesn't start until SUNDAY! And when it does start (if they don't change it) , the deal isn't going to be available online.

<< Even if you cannot get CrapUSA to honor the price, what about PM'ing with another store? 😉 >>

<< Too bad they had to include "*after rebates" disclaimer in the ad as you might be able to PM somewhere else if they did not inlude that statement. >>

There's your answer, one of the first posts up there 🙂
