Chutkan reinstituted the [ball] gag order on the Dumpster.

The kicker is that Jack Smith has also requested, in essence, that the next time he opens his pie/dick hole, that he be held w/o bail until the trial.

I think Trump has been shooting for this for a while. I can only hope that he gets his wish . . . soon.

I see no reason to have an opinion on this one way or another. But I do not see any reason why one of the judges won't order him to jail. What his supporters think of it should not make the slightest difference. His intimidation is illegal and a jailable offense. Send in the national guard or the military to quell any violent social unrest. The Jan 6 people are still headed there themselves and that's going OK. The MEGA crowd are all talk but do not wield the force of law. They are a paper tiger in my opinion, and if not, well.......... think of Hamas.

Agreed. It would take at least a couple more fines and warnings before he'll get a tour of duty in the slammer. The judges want to make absolutely clear that they gave Trump every opportunity to stifle himself beyond the pale before they incarcerate him, similar to how the FBI handled the raid on Mar a Lago.

And even then, his MAGA cult faction are already primed and ready for it to happen. They and their enablers will, to the best of their abilities try to make the nation regret insulting them with such a "travesty of justice". They are fixated on a defiant response. They be like "Go ahead, make my day."

Yep, I can see where selecting jurors and protecting their identities will be a very difficult task to accomplish because Trump's supporters will try their best to attack the process of justice and Rule of Law at that point.

They know very well that Trump is guilty of numerous charges given what's already been exposed about his crimes, most of it based on a wealth of evidence and occurrences that his lackeys have already pled guilty to and are now cooperating with the authorities. It just so happens that they really don't care if he's guilty of the many crimes he's being accused of.

It's the humiliation and shame Trump's been going through that's their only concern. Like a football team that's being humiliated on the playing field for all the world to see, Trump's troupe is taking it personal and they need a way to relieve themselves of this burden.

I think that in a very strange and counter intuitive way, Trump has done us a multitude of favors.

One of them is that maybe, finally, this halo of "sacredness" around the office and therefore whatever clown might be in it, is starting to crack.

That's also long overdue. Nixon was certainly a crook and maybe if he'd been prosecuted we never would have gotten Trump. It's just a shame that it took the "white collar" version of John Gotti to get us here.

So far, his lawyers have cut the checks. You know they got paid up front. They be whores but they're definitely not spineless whores, not in a civil case. As a general rule, if you're lead attorney in defending a criminal case, you need the court's leave. Although from what I've been able to gather, the criteria for doing that vary substantially by jurisdiction. In NJ, good f'ing luck.

That's why I think increasing them makes it less appealable. What would you base the appeal on? It isn't jail. You can't claim unfair to a so called billionaire who keeps violating the gag order.

Also warn him in advance if you violate this is the next fine. Putting the choice in his hands. Violate the order and pay this fine.

For those of you on Earth 2 - ask any lawyer and probably most 2nd or 3rd year law students, Trump has already been treated, and this barely an exaggeration, infinitely better than ANY criminal defendant. The pope would have been locked up long ago.
