Had some total ass run me off the road by deciding to just jump into my lane @ 35 MPH and therefore causing me to hit the skids and jump the curb and severed a brake line making my car inoperable and it bottomed out hard so there might be more damage I have not looked yet .
So this ass gets out and refuses to give me any per. info or ins. info and so I called the P.D. and they took a report but said it was only a civil as no one actually hit each other. So he takes my name and what not for hm and then comes back with only his ins. rep's number and his first, last name and would not give his personal because he said he was scared of me ....

Now I know his ins. is not going to do squat so I want his address to send him a hallmark card....:D

If he never actually hit you then you have nothing. Suck it up and get on with your life.

I am assuming you have no independent witnesses to this occurance.

wow that sucks. if he doesn't hit you, you don't get anything out of it??

would it be better to just rear end someone that cuts you off instead of swerving off the road?

Nope, because then you will get a ticket for unsafe distance/following too close.

How can you be following someone too closely when they swerve into your lane?

In some states, you can get the person's info from their license plate number at the DMV

Aren't license plates, DMV records public record? I think it only costs about $5.

www.publicdata.com had an account with them for several years now. Mostly I look up parents of kids my daughter is hanging out with. Just speeding tickets so far, but I think it's money well spent, if only to reinforce my daughter's good judgment.
