I got a new car about a month ago. It's a 2010 red Honda Accord Coupe EX-L.
I had them tint it about three weeks ago. Two of the windows were full of bubbles so I had them re-tint those windows. I just noticed that one of those windows has a long piece of the window at the bottom not tinted. How should I handle this? They have already botched the original job and messed up the re-tint. Do I demand a refund or let them try a third time?

This is a tint shop with multiple locations. I think they are franchises. Any help would be appreciated.

FYI, I'm glad its the passenger side window and not the back window where they could do some serious damage.

Try one of their different locations? If not, then it's time to speak to their manager/district manager....

come back one more time and have them fix it, if it's still messed up considered it a loss and never come back.

looks for a local car enthusiast club..vw/honda/audi/bmw/etc

I found MY tint guy through them...he does amazing work. If you were in/near MN I am sure he'd be happy to do your car :)

I agree. When it comes to auto stuff, be firm and demand to see the guy in charge (manager or higher). Talking to the peons will be pretty fruitless. I actually would have demanded to see the manager if they botched the first install tbh.

I always go by word of mouth...that's how I found my local tint guy. He doesn't amazing work and I've had 4 cars of mine tinted with him without a single problem.

Good luck

Go somewhere you know where they do good work. Me personally I paid more than other people but didn't want to cheap out and get crappy work done. It's worth it to pay a little more and get the job done well since tint is not something that anyone can do.

Too bad. My 2000 car that has seen a lot of summers and a few winters still has flawless tint job that was there before I bought it 7 years ago. I'm pretty sure it's not a factory tint, either so it's definitely possible to get a bubble-free tint.

Find a new shop with a professional who knows window tinting (and not a stereo installer with 16 yr olds). If they don't do things like use a heat gun to heat shrink the tint to each window, or use a filler glue to smooth over the dot matrix (black dots) on the rear and side windows so they don't have to leave a gap, go somewhere else.

Leaving a gap at the bottom sounds like the work of an amateur that doesn't know how to tuck under the seal without messing up the tint or getting it dirty.

Try finding a place that does higher priced vehicles/exotics and is used to delivering high quality the first time to the most picky customers on the planet. It will cost more, but you can pay $100 every year, or $250 once.
