Local LAN webcam streaming software?

Good morning,

I need to stream a work ceremony to different rooms. I will have a laptop and webcam recording. We have a Polycom/Cisco setup we would typically use, but some testing shows it can be unreliable. Works fine 90% of the time, but given how IT things go, I am sure it won't work on the day of.

I would like to have a backup option. Can anyone recommend some software for streaming over an internal LAN without going up to external servers?

My Googling puts me on to VLC media player, but again it is kind of unreliable. It takes some massaging to work and the output isn't all that great.

Can anyone recommend some software for streaming a webcam to local LAN?
It does not have to be free.

The final setup would be, record with webcam in ceremony room. Have 2 laptops attached to TVs in different rooms. All wired access.

Don't know whether this has already been late for your help. You may take a look for some screen recording software for recording webcam. In fact, I get one free trustable tool named Apowersoft Screen Recorder from Cnet website. And it may satisfy your needs pretty well. For streaming issue, you may get some devices and consider AirPlay technique then.
