There are junks that you probably can't even give away for free, but if you give it a bargain price, some people might get suckered in.

I once listed some old (but still good and useable) tires free for the taking and they sat in my garage for about 6 months. I changed it to $20 OBO each and they were all gone within days.

So you're saying that i could photograph all the useless junk i have clogging up my storage space, list it on craigslist or some some site, and profit while clearing the way for more useless junk?

Genius!

You are more likely to sell a old beaten up table for 5 bucks on craigslist than to give away for free, a lot of time people equates free=junk and few dollars = bargain.

FYI, cool site for Craigslist. This site goes through Craigslist and gives you a different interface where you can just browse the pictures of each listing.

ListPic.com
(Defaulting to Chicago, but just change like you normally would.)
