ok, rifle works much better for me. was top player on my team for several games.

i use rifle with the short barrel and high cap mag and 2ndary is a beam heal with 2nd tier cooling.

tried it out last night. i was impressed. turned off by 3rd person at first, after a few matches didn't even notice.

What a (old) breath of fresh air this is! I only played one round before the game had to update but it was fun. I was second on my team with over 15 kills. It does sort of play like UT/Quake, which is awesome. We'll see how the player base turns out. It would be fun to play a round with all good players

decided I don't care for the combat

rolling is more for moving around faster or trying to evade / escape because you can't do damage while rolling

during actual combat seems the best movement is to jump around a whole lot which I do not care for at all

Just got this last night and had a bit of fun! A nice, casual return to the yesteryears of arena shooters.

What would be nice is:
- more than two weapon "slots" (so having a choice of four guns total while in combat - that way, you can vary it up a bit with hitscan/ projectiles)
- rolling while not shooting, and dodging while shooting! this will definitely add a deeper element to combat

Somebody suggest these on the forums, quick!

Played a bit last night and people were doing all kinds of jumping moves and shit and i couldn't keep up with them but they seemed to have an auto-lockon on me though.

i wish i could zoom out a little more. its hard to see stuff sometimes.

I agree with that. When the action gets close and everyone is jumping around, the view is way too close and tracking them gets difficult. You just seem someone ZOOM right past your screen through the air lol

yep, i've been able to quickly get in a game fully populated every time.

I am really having a blast with this game. I see they got rid of lots of hacking recently, but I have been playing a lot of bots anyways, even though some of the game modes actually give them a big advantage.

Good thing I really like the gameplay because the guncrafting and tech tree aspects seem kind of dumb to me. Yeah my guns suck, but I think this style of play is just begging for a simple 4 class selection and be done with it. I realize they need to sell these free games somehow, but I will probably be sticking to the casual section of the game until I get bored of it.

I think the only actual pay stuff is for clothes and slots, not for gun parts, right?

either there's a skill difference or there's a definite power difference between Lvl 1 and higher level weapons

I'm going to go with a combination of both but I don't enjoy the game enough to play a Lvl 1 weapon versus guys with Lvl 6 weapons

would definitely like play the game more if I was more likely to be matched up against players with similar weapon levels

I didnt notice that at level one, and was fairly easily able to get MVP in a majority of the games I played. I dont think there is such a huge discrepancy as you think there is

Played a bit. Fun enough but but got boring once I started unlocking stuff and noticed very little difference in the weapon other than the color of the projectile when I was swapping parts. Then I saw a guy drop a turret next to capture points. I'm not sure how much I have to play to get that, but it seemed a little lopsided after that.

Just bumping this because I had a great time playing this game last night. I get 100% of the nostalgia from my first online FPS experience, which was unreal tournament, low-grav insta-gib. The only problem is that stupid jackhammer game mode, and people that click the casual button and then get all pissy when they are losing. I try to remind them there is a ranked mode if they want to be competitive dickheads, but most of the community seems to understand this game is for fun and "oh wow" moments.

It has easily toppled TF2 for my quick fun game.
