Loading programs off CD takes FOREVER. HELP!!

I just installed a PIII 800 CPU on a Soyo 6BA+100 motherboard and now when I try to install anything off of any of my 3 CD drives it takes forever. It has lots of unecessary pauses and locks up from time to time. It isn't the actual loading off of the CD that takes time, it is the pauses during the process.

Can anyone help??
 
Please someone help. I can't install my display drivers or anything else because the freaking drive takes forever to load. I have been trying to install my ATI drivers and it has taken over 2 hours.
