loading drivers

hello all, is it possible to load a driver for windows without being in windows. Maybe in dos? I want to load a driver for a scsi controller. My windows 2000 machine wouldnt boot because there's no scsi controller driver installed. I can do a repair on the existing system with the w2k CD and do a F6 to install the driver, but i dont want to do that. I think it replaces some stuff in the registry and i cant do that. I need the registry the same
