So where's your evidence? You said "truthfulness comes with a burden of proof", but if something is true in reality, its already proven, so we no longer need evidence.

What are you stating that is "true in reality" that doesn't need evidence of any kind to be taken as true?

Unless you were simply taking about Christianity being a myth? That doesn't really need evidence thats just down to the definition of a myth, which Christianity matches up to perfectly.

But if we're talking about statements made, statements of truth, why don't you think you need evidence?

Evidence for what?

Such as "my car is black". That's both a true and factual statement at the same time. I can got and look at my car. And I said we "no longer need evidence" because evidence already exists.

That falls under the definition as saying something is a myth, means its a myth.

An example of this is water. Water is defined as a liquid or fluid, yet, just because it's defined as a fluid, it can be in a gas state, or ice.

Defining something a certain way doesn't make it that way.

Evidence for what?
Evidence supporting your "true" statement of Christianity as being a myth.

You can say your car is black, that doesnt mean that your car is black or even that you own a car. It may be a true statement but until you bring some proof you may well travel around on a pink bicycle.

That falls under the definition as saying something is a myth, means its a myth.

No. I'm saying its a myth because it meets the definition of what a myth is. Theres no semantic games being played here.

Well, theres no semantic games being played by me anyway.

Water is water. It can be a fluid or a solid or a gas, its still water.

Defining something a certain way doesn't make it that way.

Unless thats what it is. If Christianity isn't a myth then what is it and why isn't it a myth?

Evidence supporting your "true" statement of Christianity as being a myth.

Fair.

But earlier you said "it doesn't really evidence", and I though evidence made a hypothesis at least true, or testable.

So "Christianity is a myth" is really a hypothesis, since you admitted you don't have evidence.

Good point on the water definition, though...major props.

No "Christianity is a myth" really isnt a hypothesis at all.

That would be like saying "to swim is a verb" is a hypothesis.

Ive given you the dictionary definition of "myth" and shown that it fits Christianity (which you, yourself, agreed with), I'm not sure what other sort of evidence you want for the definition of a term.

If you don't want it to be defined as a myth feel free to supply a better definition that fits it. I wont say I've got all night but I can get back to you in the morning which will give you plenty of time to think about it. ;)

I'm fine with it being defined as a myth, as myth, per Wikipedia, is also defined as a "misrepresentation of the truth".

I'm fine with the definition, particularity if we are picking the definition we like.

You have been indoctrinated by the UK liberal education system well.
Say "hi" to all those violent Muslims over there for me :)

Nothing of value to add to the discussion?

Or do you just type things and snicker madly to yourself?

Satanist wants to worship Satan; he/she is trolling.

Christian wants to stop the worshipping of Satan; he/she is practicing their religion.
