<< Here's one for the retro-RPG fans out there...this post to AnandTech's forums links to the new CGI movies added to the remakes of Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy IV and VI. There's also a link to a movie from Final Fantasy VII, but it's a huge spoiler, and if you haven't played the game (and plan to) don't even read this post. Thanks pg19 and {Venger} for the tip. >>

Oh wait...no I'm not....the downloads got killed from all the attention 😱

Oh well, I had my 15 minutes I 'spose 😉

15 minutes is still better than 0 minutes 🙂

I think Dennifloss was the guy who said he fought in Desert Storm and his best friend got shot and he carried him from Iraq to Kuwait on his back, but then he ended up getting killed in the end.

No, that was PCResources. Denilfloss was the guy who created and alternate personality "nowheremom" and then killed her... kind of a long story.

Weaving a tangled Web

May 29, 2001

In the past two weeks, two deaths have shocked parts of the Internet community. The deaths, both of young women who had a host of online friends, became all the more shocking when it was discovered in both cases that neither of the women had ever actually existed in the "real" world.

The first woman, Nowheremom, was created by Dennilfloss, a member of the Anandtech discussion forum. Dennilfloss says he created her in October 1999 because the forum was dominated by male visitors and he was curious to see how a "strong woman" would be treated by other members. He created a member profile for Nowheremom, using a photograph of a little known porn actress, and began to post in her name.

As it turned out, Nowheremom or Lili Marlene Anderson to give her the "real" name Dennilfloss gave her, attracted plenty of unwanted overtures from other forum users so Dennilfloss began to flirt online with his own creation, eventually giving the impression to the other users that they were going out. By January 2000, Dennilfloss had tired of the "affair" and decided to kill off his creation, telling the other members that Lili Marlene and her daughter Agnetha had been killed in a car crash.

While the hoax was actually uncovered later last year, Dennilfloss only owned up to the truth on May 16 this year. Reactions from other users varied from the sympathetic ("it took a LOT of guts to come forward") to the very angry ("Man, I fscking cried when you told that story. I'll never believe another word from you").[/i] >>
