I think it's kinda silly...they gotta make that double-elim or something...but never mind, no one's gonna change it for me

IMHO the Korean should have been DQ'ed. The Korean took the Canadian and Apolo out, the guy from China just made Apolo stumble, the guy from Korea ran right into them. Not like it matters though, seeing as he didnt get up fast enough to get a medal.

I managed to catch this race. The announcers didn't seem too surprised, they said that DQ's were part of short track speed skating. Which I guess makes sense since they are skating *very* close to each other, especially around the corners, which made it more interesting.

i didn't find it funny at all. the american had the gold won easily, and the korean pulled him down by the leg (obvious isn the replay), costing him the gold medal. he hit the wall and pretty much bounced across the line to get silver. i was just disgusted by this, the race should have been re-run.

Canadian figure skaters Jamie Sale and David Pelletier are happy to hear they will receive gold medals following the discovery of judging misconduct.

Haha.

"Maybe I'm not the most deserving guy, but I got the gold and I'm stoked about it," Bradbury said. "I thought maybe two would go down and I'd get the bronze. Then I saw them all go down and, 'Oh, my God.'"

they keep announcing it's live as well, bleah ;)

wow just saw it, that sucked big time for apolo. he's a damn good skater. i'm surprised he had the state of mind to get across for the silver, i would have kept picturing the gold floating away as i crashed into the wall... "f*** !"

<< OMG! DID YOU GUYS SEE THAT?
that was sooooooooooooo sad.....
>>

that was kinda lame...the korean was slipping and took out Ohno, but unintentionally. the commentators said the judges had the decision whether or not to rerun and it would've been more fair, altho it sounds like Ohno wouldn't have been able to go again.

if they had instant reply, Ohno would've been awarded the gold ;)

dude, if they don't redo or give it ono the olympics just keeps losing more and more credibility. apollo bidded his time for the first couple laps in forth and in the last 3 laps climbed to first and near the finish line he was basically the garranteed winner. there is no way an event for excellence should reward the loser ausi, he should get last place since thats definetly what he should have gotten. maybe they should just scratch gold off the list this time. grr i'm so pissed.

if you saw the video you would probably agree with me, this is so f*cked up, unbelievable.

that ausi reacted poorly, he deserves to be booed on the medal stand.

You can see it in his face...he knows he didn't earn it. Cheers to him though, he had all but given up when it was just handed to him.

too bad no appeals allowed...the judges must've been pressured by the French federation ;)

what really sucks is if the injury is harsh enough, no more 500m, 1500m, or 5000m relays for Ohno :(

"what really sucks is if the injury is harsh enough, "

I don't think it is. They said 3cm cut on his leg, required some stitches. However I didn't hear anything about deeper tissue damage. So as long as they tape it up well, he's got till Weds for the next race, and he's young.

The aussi guy only made it into the final on the same type of situation, talk about lucky. He didn't earn it, but he won it. Apolo knows he had the gold, and that's all that really matters. This will give him more inspiration for the next race. Basically you could've taken any short track racer and put them in that race and they could've won gold because of the crash, crazy circumstances.

Oh yeah, in no way is this funny. Yeah "haha, look you fell, lost the gold medal, and cut your leg, haha". Funny stuff. :|

The reason why it says "Live" up there is because it was filmed live. Not edited.

apolo says he will be able to skate his 3 more races...

<< Ohno needed six stitches in his inner thigh but said he should be able to compete in his other three Olympic races, beginning Wednesday. If healthy, he would be among the favorites in all three. >>
