Lmao...my spending pie chart since I've owned a checking account

It's not difficult at all to manage this. I simply enter my receipts and pick a category. Takes maybe five seconds for each receipt I have at the end of the day (very often none or maybe one), and then Money takes care of the rest. So yes, it's definitely worth it.

I don't spend much on food because when I'm at home, my mother cooks and buys food, and I don't eat out that much, and when I'm at school, I'm on a meal plan, and again, don't eat out much.

Lol...you guys are completely missing the point of this. The point was that my computer spending is like 1/3 what I paid for tuition!

if the chart "isn't for you" then why post it in the first place? if you don't care enough to make it readable, stop posting and TPAD.

"The site you requested is blocked under the following categories: Provocative Attire"

damn smart filter!

what kind of pie chart is it?

Then why didn't you just tell us?

From a pie chart, we really can't tell crap.

What if you go to a community college? That's not that far out there. What if you had a bunch of scholarships and can pay the rest out of pocket?

Is all that money management worth it? I don't think I could ever micromanage finances like that...

It is if you sometimes wonder where all the money went. It is very useful when trying to determine the true cost of something. For example the total O&M cost for one of our cars is 24 cents/mile (gas, insurance, maintenance, registration, everything). Knowing this reminds of us to plan trips wisely. I can figure out how much it costs to eat lunch out alot and then decide if it is worth it.

You've overestimated your costs. The insurance and registration are fixed expenses, not variable. If you drive the car 10 miles in a year or 10,000 you are still paying the same for insurance and registration. The only parts you should be using to calculate a per mile cost for your car are gas, maintenance, and if you wanted to get really, really nitpicky, some kind of pro ratia amount from the number of speeding tickets you usually get.

i can't remember that much accounting but I think you still divide out the fees per km driven

Pie chart

I find the ratio between the two biggest categories amusing.

That pie chart is useless. You need to categorize.
Categorize? Amusing. It doesn't really GET more categorized than it already is!

MS Money FTW.

It's really not that hard to read, legend goes top to bottom, and pie chart follows legend counter-clockwise.

Giving out the figures defeats some of the amusing aspects.
