I can't see how UF beating OSU has any bearing on Miles as a coach. The relevant points are that Miles does less with more talent than any coach in the country. If you can't see that with his past record then your homerism knows no bounds. He is 0-1 in SECCG and it's still to been seen if he can get his team up for this year's.

BTW, playing a "subpar" and "undisciplined" game is all on the coach. It happens at least once a year with his teams.

do we really have to go further into this? are you going to keep playing dumb? The UF/OSU game last year certainly has bearing to your unsupported statement that Tressel would own Miles. Miles has flourished week in and week out in the SEC, where Tressel was stomped with the favored team.

absolutely, those are on the coach which is why I brought them up. but i don't hold that he was "outcoached" by Brooks.

Dude, Les is one more goofy, dumb ass 4th down call away from the Capital One Bowl. Don't act like he's outcoached his ass to an SEC title or something.

If he wins then good for him, but it hasn't happened yet. Frankly I don't get what's so attractive about Les to UM people. Hell, Lloyd doesn't even like him.

Probably because he knows what a modern offense looks like.

it's going to be hard for les to go to UM anyway, his contract specifically named UM as one of the school where it'd cost les a couple mills if he moves there.

Why would Les want to coach at UM anyways? He would be leaving a school that has been in the national title hunt for the past 5 years that is in the middle of the heart of college and high school football. He would be going to a school that is a perennial under achiever in a declining football conference. I don't understand why anyone would leave LSU for UM.

Miles is a bumbling idiot and Michigan would be stupid to hire him.

Not a couple million, $1.25 million.

Yeah, caught that on ESPN the other night. He had a buyout clause, the only team being Michigan, his Alma Mater. No doubt in my mind he'll jump over there, but this is bad timing for LSU.

They've got their eyes set on a championship game, but knowing that your coach may ditch you for another school may be tough to play through. =/

I dont think UofM would bat an eye at having to cough up another $1.25 Million to get Les Miles if they wanted him.

I also wouldn't assume the Les Miles is Michigans #1 choice at this point. Thier AD said they have a list of approx 20 potential candidates, many with as strong, or even stronger ties to the university (and Bo, which for some reason they make out to be the be-all end-all of potential coaches) than Miles.

Hearsay of hearsay but someone told me they heard that someone's friend, a realtor, was helping Miles look at a house in the michigan area.

I'd have to call BS on that. LM is terrible but there's no way he's looking at houses in Mich with the NC game looming. Too far-fetched for even him.

If that's the case, then I foresee another loss in LSU's future. Miles's game management has been borderline even when he's not been distracted by off-the-field issues.

My brother made that joke during the UofM - Michigan State game. Not bad, not bad.

Given that a reject coach from the SEC named Ron Zook was the only Big 10 coach to beat Ohio St. this year & given that Ohio St. went undefeated in the Big 10 last year only to be utterly humiliated by Florida in the NC game, I'm pretty certain Les Miles would absolutely own that joke of a conference they call the Big 10 for years.

Seriously, people, no one runs a modern offense in the Big 10. The SEC is a savage, savage place where you just don't go undefeated. It's just too good, with too much parity to really allow for any off days, which you get in the Big 10 and other weaker conferences. If Les Miles can take with him all the recruiting contacts he's had to compete at SEC levels, and then go up to play against the slowpokes in the mid-west, he will be very successful. It will probably take a couple of years, though, for him to recruit a good enough class of players to really get going, just like it took a couple years for Zook to recruit Illinois out of the gutter of the Big 10 and into 2nd place.
