Maybe Weis can get another contract extension at ND by trying to go to Michigan.

Yeah that's what everyone is thinking. I'm curious though... what do you about the bowl game and recruiting? Usually you replace the coach as fast as possible so that recruiting doesn't suffer. If he announces his retirement but wants to coach the bowl that's almost a month and a half.

I'm sure it'll be along the lines of the effective date of his retirement being immediately following the bowl game. It's up to Michigan at that point to get someone in soon enough to pick up on the recruiting.

It basically means the university has until the bowl game to figure out who the next coach is. And the new coach will officially take office the morning after the bowl game. They might even have the new guy already working the recruiting trail prior to taking over.

They need to hire a coach who runs the spread. If Michigan got someone who could effectively run a more modern offense they could own the Big 10 and Ohio St. for a good couple of years.

Carr should quite/been fired ages ago. The talent they have and the records they have finished with. The bowl record is crap.

Tressel? really?

Ask JT how he likes dabbling in the SEC a la last year's championship game. The same conference Les Miles has been very successful in.

Remind me again how many conf titles Miles has? Living vicariously through the gators is a dangerous thing.

He got out-coached by freaking Rich Brooks this year. Gotta think JT is better than him.

Wow, you truly have a knack for avoiding the relevant points.

a. JT was completely pwnt by the Gators and Meyer. Miles 2 Meyer 1.

b. You said Miles would be owned by Tressel. Tressel has already proven that he can't carry the SEC's jock. Miles is 19-5 in conference.

c. Outcoached by Brooks? LSU played a subpar game, simple as that. Discipline was the biggest factor in that game via penalties. JT was outcoached by Zook...who was run out of Florida. JT hasn't even had to play a t top 20 team this year and STILL HAS A LOSS. AT HOME.

d. Miles is playing for his first conference title. He played for one in his first year and lost in the CCG...something the big 11 wouldn't know anything about.

Michigan is going to be the new Texas A&M when they fired RC Slocum, except Carr "retired".

I can't see how UF beating OSU has any bearing on Miles as a coach. The relevant points are that Miles does less with more talent than any coach in the country. If you can't see that with his past record then your homerism knows no bounds. He is 0-1 in SECCG and it's still to been seen if he can get his team up for this year's.

BTW, playing a "subpar" and "undisciplined" game is all on the coach. It happens at least once a year with his teams.

do we really have to go further into this? are you going to keep playing dumb? The UF/OSU game last year certainly has bearing to your unsupported statement that Tressel would own Miles. Miles has flourished week in and week out in the SEC, where Tressel was stomped with the favored team.

absolutely, those are on the coach which is why I brought them up. but i don't hold that he was "outcoached" by Brooks.
