i think the color looks better on the benq in that video than it does on the hd25. especially on the skin tones they look much more natural.

Professional review says the picture quality and contrast in both of these units is nearly identical. Either one would be as good of a purchase as the other. The W1070 3D looks better but has worse 3D glasses support. The HD25 has slightly better input lag, but with no option for lens shift is more difficult/limited to position correctly

I wasn't discounting your panny, it's still a great PJ! The W1070 hit the shelves in 2013 and is a rare gem of value, like the AR100U

jdoggs link to the review is very important here. Note that the youtube video says everything is at defaults.


Color. The HD25 has more accurate color out of the box; it measures 6400K across the grayscale to the W1070's 6800K. Both projectors can be calibrated to 6500K with very little effort on the part of the user, so final calibrated color is excellent on both models. However, the W1070 has full RGB gain/bias controls, something the HD25 lacks. Both projectors have full color management systems.

Sharpness. Both the HD25 and the W1070 are single-chip 1080p projectors without detail enhancement systems. Once sharpness is set correctly (which can be done easily without any special equipment), they appear identical.





Given the extra placement flexibility of the W1070, I would do that.

.... I guess either way, I don't think either of those projectors will be bright enough.

Odds are a TV is in my future, Mrs. approval pending I think I'll be getting 2 - 60" screens to run together for football saturday/sundays
