Good on you!
I love my Dell PVA panel. I would not trade it in for ANY TN panel on the planet. The viewing angle is noticeably better and I get better color response through DisplayMate. I also jsut don't see excessive motion blur. There's a bit, but I can live with it. The image quality for HD movies is so much better than anything I could ever get on a CRT!
Your first mistake was buying through Circuit City.
I am, however, looking forward to OLEDs becoming the standard. For now, though, I find LCDs much easier to work with than CRTs. I don't get headaches or eyestrain anymore, for one thing. They also take up a helluva lot less room (and if you don't think that's important, you should see my office area!) and don't eat as much power or throw as much heat.
For me, particularly all three Dell displays I have, LCDs are a win-win. They're a big upgrade for me. I love Dell.
Keep trying. Heck, youngster, hang on a couple years and things will be totally different. When I was 16, a personal computer wasn't even a thing of fantasy. The stuff you have now, at 16, is so incredible I can't even begin to describe it. I'm just glad to be alive at a time when this stuff is flourishing and changing and growing so rapidly. It's still in its infancy. Think about the things you'll grow up and see when I'm moildering in my grave. Seriously. You're just getting started in all this. Almost makes me wish I was that young again. (And no, I'm not THAT old.)
And don't buy from Circuit City! I'm also not a big fan of Fry's. They sell nothing but TN panels and most of them are crap. You couldn't get them to test one for you if your life depended on it. Same reason why I'll never buy an LCD TV from them.
And VERY cool links from Zebo there.
